Purchase Transvection CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Clean Anthology CDs (2003)
Transvection album
$13.45 Disc one of this indispensable set has all the early, classic songs: the silly organ-soaked frenzy of "Tally Ho," the scrappy sing-along "Beatnik," the Pavement-covered "Oddity," and the gorgeous lament, "Getting Older." Disc two compiles the best songs from The Clean's reformation during which they made 1990's VEHICLE, '94's MODERN ROCK and '96's UNKNOWN COUNTRY. Most often operating as a trio, the core of The Clean were the brothers Kilgour, David and Hamish, with bassist and Bats frontman Robert ...

| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Transvection music CDs
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's ...
| | Tom Petty Live Anthology CDs (2009)
Transvection songs
$19.34 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the ...

| | Suicide Half Alive CD (1981)
Transvection music CDs
$11.49 This collection contains demos and live material recorded between 1974-79.
There was an aesthetic revolution implied in the coupling of Alan Vega's reckless rockabilly howling and the hypnotic buzz and drone of Martin Rev's keys, and that revolution in sound birthed (perhaps unwittingly) two primary schools of synthesized rock: wimpy, gutless new wave duos and the painful dissonance of bands like Skinny Puppy, Foetus, and the later Chicago Wax-Trax scene. For better and for worse, Suicide enabled the industrial revolution. Half Alive is an essential reissue of the original ROIR cassette from 1981, compiling extremely rare early demo material and live tracks from 1974-1979. It's a mesmerizing, confrontational listen, and even more importantly - when contextualized in that time period, that harsh and beautiful juxtaposition of futuristic minimalism and anachronistic crooning (imagine Gene Vincent cornered on a mixture of quaaludes and speed), is confounding. Vega's scream is as damn reckless, damn frightening, and as full of abandon as a Stooges live show from the early '70s. Suicide went on to record a handful of indispensable albums before splitting up and reuniting innumerable times. If nothing else, this collection documents the peculiar fury of proto-industrial music prior to its eventual emasculation and/or reconfiguration as the millieu of studio hounds and gothic make-up artists. ~ Patrick Kennedy
"Guerilla Jukin', guttersnipe veracity, naked romance, Iggy Bop, and Blood."-Lester Bangs, SoHo News"Suicide recorded some amazingly seductive and terrifying music. ...
