A great place to start understanding the group
This album, the debut of British Alt. Rock band Coldplay, is an acoustic masterpiece. Instead of drowning the songs with over-excessive electric guitars, acoustics are used in their place.

A nice collection of smart songs
Real different from the later ones, this is more mellow and subdued musically, like the famous song Yellow. Don't Panic is one of my favorite Coldplay songs, it's short and bittersweet paranoid song about a possible coming holocaust, so cling to the ones you love, for 'all of us are done for'.

don't panic! everything's not lost
indeed, everything is lost, this album is enough to revive modern from what could have been the duldrums. a sensational debut album with an excellent array of excellent, well written, thoughtful songs.
