One night, Eddie wins a contest and is named the team's honorary coach. This leads to bigger and better things, for after the team's owner fires Coach Bailey, he gives the job to Eddie, to her shock and delight.
Having no coaching experience, Eddie sets out to earn the respect of her players and transform them into winners. Does she have enough gumption, skill and luck to make her dreams come true?

$6.89 A South African girl, named Sarafina, lives with her aunt and uncle in Soweto where she attends school. Her mother works as a maid in a white household in Johannesburg, and the two rarely see each other. Sarafina battles her feelings of abandonment and disappointment with passionate hero-worship of both imprisoned political activist Nelson Mandela and her rebellious history teacher, Mary Masombuka. Mary encourages the children to be proud of who they are, and aware of the political forces that rule their lives. She even helps the pupils put on a play expressing their desire for the eventual release of Mandela.
But when one of Sarafina's classmates gets involved in an arson attack, the police crack down hard on the students. As a result, the children boycott white-owned stores in the neighborhood, and tensions begin to rise. Even as Mary reassures Sarafina that she dreams of a free and peaceful South Africa, violence erupts throughout the township. A riot ensues when policemen fire at some of the children, and Sarafina faces years of imprisonment and torture for her role in the protest. Eventually, she is released and reunited with her mother. Finally together, the two women find mutual respect for the very different ways they both struggle against the oppressive forces dominating their lives.

$7.09 Terry Dolittle (Whoopi Goldberg) is a brilliant but underappreciated data entry clerk who works for Manhattan's First National Bank under the watchful eye of her dictatorial boss Mr. Page (Peter Goetz). Terry often chats with clients via her terminal, which occasionally picks up Russian television. The tides of Terry's life turn when one day she picks up a transmission from a British spy trapped in Eastern Europe, who has the code name of Jumpin' Jack Flash; he enlists Terry's help in securing an exit contract, sending her on quirky excursions to help him escape and avoid foul play. Thus ensues a convoluted mission where Terry is on the run from the KGB, kidnapped while in a phone booth (phone booth and all), injected with a truth serum, and attempts to get a crucial message to Jack before the Russians have their way with him. She also manages to find love, get back at her boss, and do a great Mick Jagger impression to the fantastic soundtrack of music from the 60s. This is Whoopi in top form!

$7.45 Legendary director D.W. Griffith (INTOLERANCE) delivers another sweeping historical epic with this film, based on the d'Ennery and Corman play, THE TWO ORPHANS. Sisters Lillian and Dorothy Gish are the girls who become separated in the streets of eighteenth century Paris during the dramatic upheavals of the French Revolution. As Henriette (Lillian Gish) searches for her blind adopted sister Louise (Dorothy Gish), she falls in love with a kind and concerned young member of the aristocracy, Chevalier (Joseph Schildkraut). Unfortunately their love is doomed by her commoner status, and his callous uncle (Frank Losee), who railroads her off to prison to keep them apart. The revolution occurs, and Henriette is liberated, but then there's more trouble when mob rule causes chaos in the streets, the guillotine awaits Chevalier, and Louise remains just out of reach.
Griffith captures the class injustice at the heart of this story by contrasting scenes of lavish parties at the houses of the nobles with the abject poverty of the beggars outside. The thrilling use of crowds and meticulous historical accuracy make this an epic comparable in scope and theme to BIRTH OF A NATION, which is how Griffith undoubtedly meant it. The film is silent, with tinted scenes and film score.

$15.59 In UNDERWORLD, a dark and Gothic monster action movie, vampires and lycans--an ancient form of werewolf--are at war. While the vampires inhabit a gigantic castle that houses their ancestor's tombs, the lycans live underground in a dilapidated sewer cave. Both teams are equipped with big guns, and they are constantly innovating deadlier bullets to gain advantage over each other. On the vampire side, the leather-clad death agent Selene (Kate Beckinsale) delegates teams of vamps to attack the lycans. But when she discovers that the lycans have kidnapped a human medical student, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), she knows the worst is on its way. Against the orders of her superior, Kraven (Shane Brolly), who is obsessively in love with Selene, she awakens the most powerful vampire of all time, Viktor (Bill Nighy) and prepares for a massive feud against lycan leader Lucian (Michael Sheen).
Director Len Wiseman offers a tough, fast, and gory addition to the horror-fantasy genre with UNDERWORLD. Impressive special effects show the lycans transforming from humans to werewolves, and the lycans' ability to squeeze silver bullets out of their skin is also rudely fascinating. Beckinsale is captivating in the role of the lead vamp, with her leather corset, pouty expressions, and double-fisted pistols perfectly communicating the glam-action mood of the film.
This DVD feature film stars Kate Beckinsale, Scott Speedman. DVD special features include director's commentary with Beckinsale and Speedman, outtakes, a "Look of Underworld" featurette, "Fangs vs. Fiction" featurettes, lots more.
