(2 Customer Reviews)
A disc based in the neo-classical power and fantasy type of prog metal, this CD fares a lot better than many in that genre. So many times bands that try to create in that niche become very overblown, pompous, and silly. Mob Rules does not fall into that trap. In fact, this disc has some incredible prog metal with strong Iron Maiden and Queensryche leanings. Yes, they do go in for the neo-classical arrangements and the powerful textures, but they temper it with a mature restraint and the performances are very strong. The music is very diverse in approach, going from straightforward metal to balladic to Dream Theater-ish prog, sometimes in the course of one song. This is a very strong work. ~ Gary Hill

Temple Of Two Suns music CDs
$13.15 Whitesnake, the pop-metal band featuring former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, released the album COME AN' GET IT in 1981.
Despite the massive talents of vocalist David Coverdale and his supporting cast of musicians (not to mention the unimpeachable resumé of producer Martin Birch), Come an' Get It was another maddeningly average Whitesnake album. A thoroughly boring set that played it too safe and yielded no lasting live favorites, Come an' Get It was ...

Temple Of Two Suns CD music
$12.15 Thanks to a pair of brilliantly executed albums in 1999's Pale Folklore and 2002's The Mantle (plus 2001's none too shabby Of Stone, Wind and Pillor EP), Portland, Oregon's Agalloch became, quite possibly, the greatest American black metal band ever, or at the very least, the first American black metal band that really mattered! Such claims should not to be thrown about lightly, its true; but why measure words when faced with the worshipful fervor with which extreme metal fans embraced the enigmatic quartet's inspired creations, featuring corrosive black metal spliced with delicate folk music into arrangements improbably fluid, majestic, and avant-garde? Oh, and the torturously long waits in between their releases didn't hurt matters either, only fueling the notoriously withdrawn band's budding cult legend, while their supporters dug in their heels for what wound ...
| | Shades Mountain Air Sky's A Clearing CD (2006)
Temple Of Two Suns music CDs
$15.89 “This CD has moved me in a very positive way.” That’s what one Shades Mountain Air fan wrote about SKY’S A CLEARING: MUSIC FROM THE GOSPELS, the group’s third CD release hailed as “fresh and inspiring.” Springing from the suburban hills and valleys of Birmingham, Alabama this bluegrass band is clearly on the rise. To classify Shades Mountain Air as strictly a “bluegrass” band would not be the whole story. Its distinct acoustic sound was described by The Birmingham News this way:“...a mix of bluegrass, newgrass, gospel, originals and occasional parodies. Strong and well-blended vocals and lots of energy. Basically suburban folk with rural roots…a good time.” SKY’S A CLEARING unites familiar, old-time gospel tunes with some new favorites by emerging songwriter Gary Furr, the band’s guitar player. These 13 sweet and moving songs are sung and played from the heart, from the delicate hammer dulcimer version of “Amazing Grace” to a unique arrangement of the Alison Krauss standard, “Palm of Your Hand.”Nancy Womble’s stunning lead vocals, especially on “Wayfaring Stranger” and the original ...
