Monolithic Minds Vol. 1: A Collection Of Drum & Bass From Primal Music buy CD music Ludovic Llorca's New Comer begins with a swell jam called "The Novel Sound," which is reminiscent of early-'90s acid jazz. The spoken-word bit on this tune works, as does the sudden ending. The next song, "Indigo Blues," with Nicole Graham on vocals, is among the album's best. Graham has the perfect soulful croon for this sort of number and the Latin jazz-style instrumentation is lively. And it's the same with "Lights Behind Windows" and "I Cry," both excellent, original tunes. Julien Lourau's fine tenor sax on "Lights Behind Windows" is a standout, while Mandel Turner's deep-voiced scatting and a super-catchy funk groove bring "I Cry" over the top. If this were only a four-song EP, it would be a knockout. But the last five songs wind down into a much lighter, dentist-office-type jazz sound which kills off the momentum of the first half. Llorca is certainly a talented DJ, but he needs to work on holding the listener's attention a bit longer. ~ Adam Bregman Eardrum-licking deep house grooves abound on Newcomer, Llorca's debut album for F Communications. Nine tracks. 2002. Additional personnel includes: Nicole Graham, Mandel Turner, Lady Bird (vocals); Chris Lechevretel (trumpet). Llorca: Ludovic Llorca.

Monolithic Minds Vol. 1: A Collection Of Drum & Bass From Primal Music CD music Constructing a mix album out of others' mix albums is a baffling proposition, but Global Underground: Locations does just that. Mixed by the series' own the Forth (previously responsible for Global Underground: Arrivals and Global Underground: Departures), this one also grabs tracks from past editions (devoted to Lee Burridge, John Digweed, Deep Dish, Darren Emerson) with no rhyme and no reason why these tracks couldn't have been taken from the original sources. At least the Forth steers away from high-gloss trance, instead sticking to '90s house. ~ John Bush The 4th release in the Global Underground Sampler series brings together the highlights of all the big 2001 Global Underground & Nu Breed releases. Mixed expertly by The Forth once again, he has taken the great tracks from John Digweed 'Los Angeles', Darren Emerson 'Singapore', Deep Dish 'Moscow', Sander Kleinenberg & Lee Burridge Nu Breed albums and has given them that required re-airing. Global Underground. Compiled and mixed by The Forth. Personnel: Mayte (vocals); Steve Smith (percussion). Audio Mixer: The Forth. Audio Remixers: 16B; Mazi. Recording information: Bens Kitchen; Creator Studios; Pink House Studios; Studio Nova.

Monolithic Minds Vol. 1: A Collection Of Drum & Bass From Primal Music songs The first in a two-volume set released in 1989 and 1990, Def Jam Classics, Vol. 1 is an excellent if not definitive look at the history of one of rap music's most crucial labels. Most of the tracks are classics and will be familiar to those who grew up during this era -- there's LL Cool J's "Rock the Bells," Slick Rick's "The Ruler's Back," Public Enemy's "Rebel Without a Pause," Original Concept's "Can U Feel It," and the Beastie Boys' "Rhymin & Stealin." The rarities and otherwise less-popular tracks -- like the Public Enemy B-side "Son of Public Enemy [Flavor Whop Version]" only entice the collectors. Younger fans whose first memories of rap music date back to the mid-'90s and later should snap this up -- and the succeeding volume as well -- with no hesitation. ~ Andy Kellman Includes liner notes by Bill Adler. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Audio Remasterer: Howie Weinberg.

Monolithic Minds Vol. 1: A Collection Of Drum & Bass From Primal Music album for sale Millicent teh Thanks so much for listening our songs . I'm, only the singer and my husband songwriter of this album, "Heaven the street of gold." The truly the reason I wrote this album because :God has made some radical changes in my life. I came to know Jesus Christ when I was 15 years old asking Him what His plans were for me. I'm now 32 and have been serving in missions overseas for four years. I met my husband, Evan, while studying Italian in Vicenza. Evan and me are from Osei - Liberia( Africa). We've been married now for nearly ten years. You'll hear various musical influences on this album, since in my life I have had experiences through different music style like: raggae afro-pop dance This album involves supporting a community of 1000 and more families in a community in Africa Osei ,sharing with them a message of hope and love. My motivation for writing the album was the dream that by using our gift to sing and to write, we could reach out to hundreds of people without resources, and without hope. May this cd truly give God glory! Lord we thank you for the wisdom, knowledge that is conceived in these songsWe could not have come so far without your spirit mind and strength. Many praises to you as you change us from glory to glory God bless you
