After acknowledging Eric Clapton and George Harrison in the audience at a concert at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1969, B.B. King was heard to have said 'But I've got to say that I'm sorry, Peter Green is best'. With this budget-priced 16 track compilation featuring over 30 years of great recordings by one of the world's best blues guitarists, you and your customers will probably be of the same opinion! Vintage Peter Green Great Peter Green (with and without Mac) here. Too bad his life took the detour it did as he was one of the truly gifted blues musicians from the '60's. Also recommend the album Fleetwood Mac (garbage can on cover, not the Stevie Nicks one) and English Rose. Submitted by Frank (Western New York USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
blues magic pure black mans blues, by a white

Green's Blues Some great tracks on this CD. Some Robert Johnson like tracks with old time blues feel (raw and not particularly polished) as well as more modern blues tracks with 60s -70s feel, as well as 90s stuff.
Some tracks are pure polished gold - 'Born Under a Bad Sign', and 'Pulling at Shadows'. Green's vocals are well suited to the blues and his clear guitar licks are a joy. A couple of tracks are not at par with the others, but on the whole its a great CD. I recommend it.

Greeny Strikes Again !! Peter Green's "Alone With The Blues" is a superb collection of soulful, atmospheric tracks from the man who was a major "white" blues pioneer. This album takes you right back to the mid-sixties magic of the Bluesbreakers & early Fleetwood Mac, and is a must for anyone who is into the blues guitar. Submitted by martin1 (E. Sussex, UK.) Live tracks recorded in Boston, Massachusetts and London, England in 1970.
If you think the laid-back L.A. pop of RUMOURS is what Fleetwood Mac is all about, THE VAUDEVILLE YEARS will set you straight. If you're already hip to the band's original incarnation as Britain's finest blues band with guitar wizard Peter Green at its helm, this two-disc collection of previously unreleased tunes from 1968-'70 will be like manna from heaven. Part of the idea of presenting some of these ill-fated sessions here is to paint a picture of what might have been had not Peter Green bowed out of the picture ...
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original LP, Stills on the other), all three principals ...
$14.49 A 40-year veteran of the rock wars (he was 16-years-old and a member of the McCoys when their "Hang on Sloopy" knocked the Beatles' "Yesterday" out of the number one spot on the pop charts in the summer of 1965), Rick Derringer forged his own ...
