The Road Kings: Jesse Dayton (vocals, guitar); Jason Burns (acoustic bass); Richie Vasquez (drums). Additional personnel: James Saez (electric bass, percussion, background vocals); Andrew Sheps (programming). Most Texas blues bands keep things pretty straightforward, turning out gritty records that would sound good at any Lone Star road house. The Road Kings are little different. Perhaps mindful of winning a larger, younger audience, they've taken cues from such post-alternative bluesmen as Beck, giving their music a solid rhythmic underpinning and a radio-ready gloss. At times, that means that their eponymous debut feels a little directionless, or possibly compromised, but when they lay back and simply rock, they -- and, in particular, lead guitarist Jesse Dayton -- show their promise. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine Road Kings Songs | 1. | Hurdy Gurdy Monkey Shine |

| | Conflict Increase The Pressure CD (1984)
Road Kings
$11.39 Widely considered to be Conflict's shining moment, 1984's INCREASE THE PRESSURE finds the U.K. punk act railing against the status quo with an admirable fury. While the group's minimal, hard-charging sound is key to its aesthetic, its sociopolitical messages, shouted out by vocalist Colin Jerwood, are clearly just as important, as revealed on the rabble-rousing title track and the anti-Thatcher tune "As Others See Us." For an effective dose of mid-'80s anarchist punk, it doesn't get much more intense than INCREASE THE PRESSURE. For an effective dose of mid-'80s anarchist punk, it doesn't get much more intense than INCREASE THE PRESSURE. Not as well-known as Crass in America but huge internationally and in England, Conflict, a crew of radical anarchists and animal rights activists, put out a bunch of great records in the '80s and a few decent ones in the '90s. Increase the Pressure is among the best of them. The gatefold vinyl record includes a photo of a march on the front with a black anarchist ...
| | Lisa Scott-Bailey How Excellent CD (2006)
Road Kings
$15.19 Ensound Music Award Finalist - Nominated in Female Vocalist of the Year and Praise & Worship Album of the Year categories.“Lisa’s voice is one of the finest instruments I’ve ever heard”. Pastor Marvin L. Winans."A songbird. That is the primary thought that comes to mind as it relates to the gifted Levite, Lisa Scott Bailey.“How Excellent,” “My Messiah,” and “Rain On Me” are a tantalizing trio that sets you up to freely worship. And the title track “How Excellent” is intoxicating. Through its simplicity, the song allows us to fully ponder how wonderful our Saviour truly is." Gospel Flava.com CD Review - John Burton Jr. Lisa Scott-Bailey, recording artist and songwriter has traveled the US and Europe as a psalmist and praise & worship leader. She first began vocal studies through a series of voice scholarships and awards in her teen years. At the age of 15 Lisa recorded for the first time in her life with the Lemon Gospel Chorus. She sang solo on the project's title cut "Fill Me With Your Spirit" produced by Mattie Moss Clark on the Sound of Gospel label. But with a love for classical studies and an aspiration to sing opera, she went on to appear in various operatic productions with the Michigan Opera Theatre including Aida, Porgy & Bess, La Traviata and the Magic Flute to name a few. She left Detroit for New York City after receiving another private scholarship to study voice--there she studied with Professor Eva Likova. While in New York, Lisa felt God's call to return to Detroit and pursue ministry through Christian ...
