Wonderful introduction to fado
Rodriques may be thought of as the Billie Holliday of fado, which is Portugese "soul" music. This particular album is especially valuable as it contains the two songs a non-Portugese listener is most likely to have heard, "Lisbon Antigua" and "Coimbra" (known here as "April in Portugal").
