Deep Purple - Total Abandon: Live In Australia 1999 Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) BAND HIT A PURPLE STREAK. This was a hot night in Melbourne. The band were shocked to sell out the arena: the surprise and pleasure is evident on their faces from the moment they walk on stage. The playing is supreme, the sonics and visuals as good as can be. Steve Morse eats up the oxygen with his wailing guitar solos during SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE SCREAMING. Ian is on form, the few high notes he cannot take, he sings around effortlessly. Check out the crowd- they are in raptures. A special night indeed. Submitted by David Martin (Mt. Martha, Australia.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Fantastic! The band sounds tight, sound quality excellent and Steve Morse is great. The lead in to Smoke on the Water is super! Jon Lord is exceptional on the keyboards. Submitted by Mark (Fort Worth, TX, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Total performance Much better than "come hell or high water", this purple line-up shows top form performance through the whole gig .The sound mix is superb. Steve Morse brilliancy in the guitar is remarkable both on his own creativity and in the classical unavoidable Blackmore's riffs . Guillan voice is as good as ever playing all ultra high notes he used to. Mr. Lord playing ability in the Keys is very sharp and plays few virtuoso duets an unisons with mr. Morse. Bass playing by Mr Glover and drums by Paice make of DP one of those classical teams that seem will never ends. In summary this is one of the best DP videos ever. Musical Warriors Triumphant Watching this band perform from their brilliant catalogue with such professionalism is a joy to a fan like me.
Just to see them onstage after all these years still rocking great new tunes like "sometimes I feel like screaming" and stuff from IN ROCK proves that when something is good, it's always good. Steve Morse fits in like no other replacement ever has. You can tell he loves this music as much as me. He's a fan and it shows. I had no idea how great a bass player roger glover was until I saw him do that solo. Jon Lord shines brightly like a mad master of the ivories surrounded by all that equipment.
As a fan, I thank you guys for all the superb excellence in your work. It looks like too much fun to be work, but one doesn't have to be smart to appreciate virtuosity when one sees it and feels it.
on a scale of 1 to 5 this concert video is a 10!!! Submitted by carlosaguasvivas (North Bergen, NJ USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$10.49 Like their Native American ancestors before them, the members of Blackfoot must have known what it felt like to be exiled from their homeland. Only, rather than being forced into an Indian reservation, the world's first all-Native American hard rock band found itself trying to scrape together a good wage across the pond, where U.K. audiences couldn't seem to get enough of its uniquely metallic, Skynyrd-derived Southern rock. Despite experiencing diminishing returns in the good ol' U.S. of A., all three of their studio albums for Atco had been warmly ...
