||The best I've heard!!!|

||I hate country music, but I love the Dixie Chicks|
The Dixie Chicks should stick to music like Schwartzeneggar should stick to acting. Strong women with an opinion are just what this country needs. And can they sing!!

||Southern Belles They Ain't|
What a great antidote to Nashville's cloyingly sweet women and cookie-cutter men. Oh, they are sweet, but with a little bit of vinegar, too. And they actually sound real country, with musically interesting settings.

||Gotta love their spunk|
I used to make fun of my friend Christy for liking this country group, but in the past few weeks, I have listened to their old albums and gotten to appreciate this amazing group (a huge step for someone who only listens to dance/pop/disco). Their harmonies and tunes are amazing and tell some amusing stories. I definitely am supporting them even more since their comments in Europe regarding President Bush and the war. Agree or disagree, they are using their freedoms and voices to send a good message and create beautiful music. Buy this and all their albums so they can be producing and making more CD's and recordings for years to come. They are just AMAZING!!!

||I don't even like country!!!|
I remember hearing 'Wide Open Spaces' a few years back. For some reason, the song stuck in my head but I never really gave the Dixie Chicks much of a chance. Even with their growing popularity with the CD 'Fly', I wrote them off as typical radio-friendly fluff. Well, some years have passed since first hearing 'Wide Open Spaces' and a few of their other tunes. I finally decided to give the 'Chicks' a good listen and I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised. It's something about the tight harmonies and acoustic-tinged accompaniment that makes you feel like everything is okay. In my opinion, the standout cut here is 'I'll Take Care of You'. The melody is simply beautiful, the chord changes take some unexpected turns and the lyrics are warm without being cheesey. This is one case where I was happy to be wrong. Even if you aren't a country fan, give one of their CD's a listen, especially this one. You'll be pleased you did!
