Deep Forest emerged in as a unique phenomenon in the '90s, employing the ambient musical techniques established in the '70s and '80s, but with an added twist. Using natural sounds and souped-up technology to create something of a world-music/ambient/techno fusion, Deep Forest captured the imagination and ears of millions of listeners. COMPARSA represents not a departure so much as a strengthening of position. Deep Forest finds those elements of their sound that speak most directly to the listener and expands on them to fine effect. Fans of their music will be slightly surprised at some of the new timbres and rhythms on COMPARSA, but they will certainly not come away dissapointed.

Deep Forest Comparsa Songs Comparsa Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Fantastic!! 2 thumbs up! I'd give 4 if I could! This is a fascinating CD! In each track I find something new. They always manage to find new combinations in their sounds. Just when you think you've got them figured out, something comes along & puts you back where you started! The rhythm is amazing. Every time I listen to it, I can't help but dance!
My all time favorite on this CD is track 3: Madazulu. I absolutely LOVE the bass solo about 2 minutes into the song. Whoever sang that should get a record deal!! Submitted by Meagan (CT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Deep Forest III Comparsa This is album is very good, its probably my favorite of all their albums, although, I still think they should have included Alexi & Freedom City(Freedom Cry) on this album, but nonetheless its still a good album, quite possibly the best. 5/5. Comparsa
$15.25 Loreena McKennitt began her career as a New Age pop chanteuse, steeped in Celtic folk mysticism and possessed of an airy, ethereal voice. Over the course of her career she has dabbled to varying extremes in the pop format, but she remains true to the spirit of the traditional balladeer on THE BOOK OF SECRETS. With the aid of top-flight musicians like Danny Thompson and David Rhodes, she weaves a web of fanciful, wispy folk-rock that's not afraid to be beautiful ...

| | Deep Forest Boheme CD (1995)
Comparsa
$7.59 The two producers who are Deep Forest are folklorists with keyboards and samplers and visions of one world. Instead of traveling back-country roads and recording native singers on their home turf, they comb the world of recorded music and sample the natives; and instead of presenting them as they are, they mix and match them and supply the beats themselves. Following a debut that was based on Pygmy music from Central Africa, BOHEME scans the landscape of Eastern Europe and Asia for the exotic sounds of throat singing, cantorial chanting and ...

$10.15 The Emerald City has both produced and influenced some of the finest musical minds of the late century. From Ray Charles to Jimi Hendrix, Seattle has served as inspiration for the imaginative, the troubled, the pioneers, and the innovators. From this creative mecca has arisen THE NEW LAW, the music duo who put forth their passion of sound into a unique blend of organic and synthetic evolving soundscapes that feature dreamlike sax, dusty samples, soaring synths, and pulsing drum machines. The group comprises Adam Straney and Justin Neff, who met during college while working at a movie theater. Adam began his musical career playing guitar, bass guitar and drums in punk bands throughout his youth. In college he discovered a new love for Drum ‘n’ Bass music, which soon led to DJing and producing. Justin has played the piano and saxophone in jazz, funk and rock bands since childhood. For more than half a decade, The New Law has combined these influences and backgrounds which have resulted in the deep, hypnotic, instrumental mind-warping music that has become its signature sound.
