| When Deep Purple Rules
With anthemic classic rock (guitar solos, catchy riffs and all) like Highway Star, Pictures of Home, Lazy and of course Smoke on the Water; this album is a gem! I started listening to it way back then and 30 years on I still find it amazing.

| Classic Energy!
What can be said but a classic! One of the first (vinal) albums I wore out and had to replace! There is no greater energy than Highway Star!

| Deep Purple’s best studio album.
“Highway Star” has the best beginning of all songs I’ve ever heard and it has a magnificent guitar and keyboard solos.

| multichannel only?
I assume you know this fine band and this wonderful album. I'll comment on the sound, which is beautiful. However, this is the only hybrid sacd I've ever had problems with: my new sacd player could not find the stereo sacd layer, and started to play 2 of the multichannels, leaving out a lot of the details.

In my opinion, this is by far the very best Deep Purple album ever. There is not much else I can say except, buy buy buy it!
