Recorded for MTV Europe in 1999, this unplugged concert has Irish folk rock band The Corrs singing acoustic versions of several of their own songs (including U.K. hits "Runaway," "Radio," and "Only When I Sleep"), plus a handful of covers.
Acoustic versions of the hit Irish sibling pop quartet's best, plus covers of R.E.M.'s 'Everybody Hurts', Jimi Hendrix's 'Little Wing' and Jimmy McCarty's 'No Frontiers', all recorded for MTV Unplugged & to be broadcast at the end of November, 1999. Produced by Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello), mixed by Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, David Bowie) and with string arrangements by Fiachra Trench (Van Morrison). 14 tracks total, also including versions of 'What Can I Do', 'So Young' and 'Forgiven, Not Forgotten'. 1999 release. An Inspirational Album The Corrs hit it big time, about 3 years ago with their stunning debut album "Forgiven Not Forgotten". And since then things have just got better and better. This new album shows off everything that fans all over the world love about the Corrs. The album, all being live, puts most bands to shame. Andrea's pitch perfect voice, Caroline's energetic drum playing , Sharon's soothing violin and Jim's overall enthuisam, show why they are so unique. This album includes many of the old songs including "Queen of Hollywood and So Young", and also features 5 brand new tracks. They really have excelled themselves this time, and I and many others hope there is still more to come. Keep Ireland alive, we're behind you every step of the way.

| | Lisa Loeb Tails CD (1995)
Corrs Unplugged music CDs
$7.79 With strong melodies and a compelling vocal style, Lisa Loeb is emerging as one of the decade's most talented budding singer/songwriters. TAILS shifts gears between soft, lilting folk-rock and big, guitar-based pop, and proves that this talented New Yorker is clearly defining her sound with every well-placed note. Of course the tempting cliche, used too often by rock critic-types, is to proclaim any woman whose voice doesn't spit and snarl as "vulnerable." And yes, Loeb does have a certain wistfulness about her.
Yet the writer behind songs like "It's Over" and "Do You Sleep" is less vulnerable than confused, lovestruck and, at times, bitter. "Over" starts with a simple guitar strum, a la Joni Mitchell and early Suzanne Vega. But the song builds, through electric guitars, harmonizing voices, and a soaring chorus about a rough topic: "The drone in your voice and the fly on the wall said/It's over, it's over it's over it is." "Sleep" also starts quietly, but develops into near-anthem status, with Tim Bright's sweeping, ringing guitar work carrying Loeb to a new level of emotive strength. "Waiting For Wednesday" ...

Corrs Unplugged CD music
$12.79 It's not so much that James weren't expected to make yet another good record; when 2001's Pleased to Meet You was released, they hadn't made a truly subpar record since the late '80s. But it isn't just another good James record -- it's their best. It's their tightest, freshest, most contemporary batch of songs, weatherproofed to stand the test of time. From the dizzily uplifting "Space," a Brian Eno-influenced and produced song (sure sounds like his voice is in the chorus, too), to the glacially sparse ballad "Alaskan Pipeline," the perfectly titled record is fresh-faced enough to sound like a band high on being in a ...
