This is a digitally remastered German import version of the definitive Flying Burrito Brothers package. A now-famous CD twofer that combines the band's two albums recorded with their founder, the near-mythic country-rock icon Gram Parsons. Parsons would leave the band shortly after the recording of BURRITO DELUXE, the band's second album, but not before cutting stone-cold alt-country classics such as "Hot Burrito #1," "Wheels," "Sin City, " and working through gorgeous covers of songs by Dan Penn and the Rolling Stones. This is a must-have for any fan of country music, alternative or otherwise.
This two-fer from country-rock legends the Flying Burrito Brothers includes 1969's Gilded Palace of Sin and 1970's Burrito Deluxe on a single disc. Both albums dutifully represent the band at its peak, making it a great entry point for newbies and a hassle-free treat for longtime fans. ~ James Christopher Monger
Their first 2 albums coupled together.

| | Byrds Sweetheart Of The Rodeo CD (1968)
Gilded Palace Of Sin/Burrito Deluxe CD music
$6.85 In the same year that Bob Dylan stepped back from his electric pilgrimages by releasing an album of roots-oriented morality tales, the Byrds took a symbolic flight to Nashville. Gone was Roger McGuinn's singular 12-string guitar sound and the acid rock that had influenced everyone from the Monkees to the Velvet Underground. McGuinn now played banjo, and bassist Chris Hillman doubled on mandolin, both seemingly reconsidering their musical approaches. And while Dylan remained the songwriter of choice, his tunes now sat alongside a rearranged hymn ("I Am a Pilgrim"), ...

| | Deep Purple Machine Head CDs (1972) Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Gilded Palace Of Sin/Burrito Deluxe songs
$10.75 This package contains the original MACHINE HEAD plus quadrophonic mixes of 2 songs on one disc, MACHINE HEAD remixed by Roger Glover in 1998, and a 28 page booklet.
A probable contender for one of hard rock's "all-time most influential albums," Deep Purple's MACHINE HEAD has all the markings of a heavy classic. It was here that the band's combination of amped-up blues, progressive instrumental prowess, screaming guitars, and thunderous rhythms was crystallized for the ages, helping ...

| | Deep Purple Who Do We Think We Are? CD (1973) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Gilded Palace Of Sin/Burrito Deluxe CD music
$10.45 After establishing itself as a hard-rock giant, thanks to endless touring and the release of such milestone records as MACHINE HEAD and IN ROCK, Deep Purple was in a state of turmoil when it went into the studio to record 1972's WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE? Despite all the infighting, the band pulled together long enough to record seven tracks that only bolstered the band's reputation.
The best-known song, "Woman From Tokyo," boasted a riff as memorable as the one that defined "Smoke on the Water" and was later admitted by Ritchie Blackmore to have ...

| | Triumph Live At The Us Festival CD (2003) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
Gilded Palace Of Sin/Burrito Deluxe album
$13.45 Although Triumph's studio albums could be uneven and inconsistent, the Canadian hard rock/arena rock trio had a reputation for being explosive on-stage (where they tended to avoid their lesser material and put a lot of energy into their more memorable songs). When you think about it, Triumph had the opposite problem of many of today's high-tech, urban contemporary, electronica, and dance-pop artists: in contrast to all the people who are so reliant on studio technology that they fall apart on-stage, Triumph tended to sound more confident and assured on-stage than they did in the studio. Live at the US Festival, in fact, paints a more consistently attractive picture of Triumph than many of its studio albums. This 54-minute CD was recorded at a massive, three-day outdoor rock festival that took place ...
