Life album for sale by Neil Young & Crazy Horse / Neil Young was released Mar 19, 1999 on the Geffen label. LIFE was Neil Young's first album with Crazy Horse in almost a decade, but fans expecting a return to the classic Crazy Horse two-guitar proto-grunge sound were thrown another curveball typical of Young's mercurial '80s work. Although some of the songs here ("Too Lonely," "Prisoners of Rock 'N' Roll") are as fuzzed out and attitudinal ("We never listen to the record company man") as you could hope for, much of the album is in preconception-shattering mode of most of Young's work of the period, replete with synth bass and big '80s drum sounds.   ...See Full Description
