| Don't Go Away Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) I have one!! Very Good. Amazing cd single. This single is hard to find because it was edited in Japan only. You must purchase it while you can. Excellent item for your collection. Submitted by a reviewer (Santiago, Chile.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Must have Single. One of the best. Well, what can I say. Noel Gallagher is a genius. This is the Japanesse import Don't go Away single. The B-sides are truly amazing with a rocking version of one of there first smash hit, Cigarettes and Alcohol, live at the G-Mex in 1997. Also featured is Sad Song, previously only released on the Definitely Maybe Lp. Which is followed by an acoustic mix of Fade Away.
The very best of Oasis is right here. 5 stars Submitted by bawdo (Victoria, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

You'll scrapre right through that barrel one day The last single from the ultimateley dissapointing third Oasis album 'Be Here Now', it is understanding why it wasn't released in Britain.
Put with a good, if predictable live version of Cigarettes and Alcohol, Don't Go Away fades with the former glories from the past three and a half years, the oldest of which being 'Sad Song', a bonus track on the vynal version of 'Definatly Maybee'.
These are all good tracks on their own, but put together as one single they don't gel, fairly remenisnt of the band that recorded them nowadays.

Better than your average single! This is one great Oasis single. "Don't Go Away" was never relased as an official single in the UK, but it was in Japan! First of all, there is a mini fold-out poster inside. Second of all, you get a nice combo of songs: "Don't Go Away," "Cigarettes & Alcohol (Live at G-MEX)," "SAD SONG," and the acoustic HELP charity version of "Fade Away!" All the Oasis fans out there will recognise "Sad Song" as hard-to-find, since it was previously only available as a bonus track on the "Definitely Maybe" vinyl. This import is WELL WORTH OWNING! ^_^ Submitted by jonnystarlight (Breckenridge, MN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Don't Go Away album
$13.85 ADORE was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance.
In the wake of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin's departure, the Pumpkins have taken a giant step away from the grunge-flavored, turbo-powered alt-rock anthems that made them famous. On ADORE, Billy Corgan and company opt instead for a more scaled-down approach that relies heavily on acoustic instruments and ballads of love and longing. Corgan may still be expressing angst here, but he does it in an understated, romantic way, addressing matters of the heart with subtlety and maturity on tunes like "Shame" and "To Sheila."
Don't take all this acoustic-based balladry (a path also explored by James Iha on his solo debut) as a sign that the band is out of touch with contemporary production trends, though. Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb is on hand to add a sprinkling of electronica to the proceedings via his programming talents. His contributions, like much of ADORE itself, remains modestly unobtrusive, providing ...

Don't Go Away CD music
$18.59 "All Around The World" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video.
Shamelessly enamored of The Beatles, Oasis uses BE HERE NOW to serve up another heaping platter of larger-than-life rock and roll garnished with Fab Fourisms. Noel Gallagher's ambitious songwriting and production (which, not coincidentally, was done at Abbey Road) result in an average song length of almost six minutes and the full, gnarly guitar sound that's become Oasis' trademark. "Magic Pie" and "All Around The World" incorporate brassy orchestration reminiscent of "Let It Be," while the former's name seems a less-than-subtle nod to Macca's FLAMING PIE album released a few months prior.
Aside from the band's constant worship at the Beatles shrine, Gallagher occasionally draws from other sources, sharply addressing the uncertainty of fame with the slam-bang rock and roll of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" and the latter-day Stone Roses sound of "Fade In-Out" which prominently features guest Johnny Depp's slide guitar. With their nemesis Blur busy trolling the noisy depths of lo-fi, American indie rock, BE HERE NOW proves to be another jewel in the crown ...

$13.95 "Push" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
On YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU, Matchbox 20's debut, vocalist/lyricist Rob Thomas leads his band down the same path as Counting Crows, to a post-Pearl Jam, Van Morrison/Band-influenced home at the top of the charts. Thomas' raspy voice wraps a romanticized alienation around folky, roots-inflected rock tunes that share the thematic aspirations of Van circa TUPELO HONEY and The Band's self-titled second ...

| | Oasis Some Might Say CD (1995) (Import) 6 Tracks; Japan
Don't Go Away album
$28.79 "Some Might Say," inspired as it is by the Small Faces, might be described as a cross between the sensational "Whatever" and "Cigarettes and Alcohol." Like the Bunnymen's "Bring on the Dancing Horses," it's all but an "Oasis best-of" in a song, as incredibly hooky and great as anything they've done to date, with the Gallaghers doing a nice bluesy harmony before a theatrical lyric-trill on the chorus words "in the rain" catch the listener. May it sell a million copies. "Talk Tonight," another acoustic track for Noel to sing, was inspired by the Fall of '94 near-breakup of the band in Los Angeles, when he walked out, and it's probably the most vulnerable track they've attempted as a result (a far cry from Liam's ever-present bluster). Lastly, "Acquiesce" and the faster, harder "Headshrinker" are more appealing guitar rockers via the Small Faces' blues-chord heavy rock angle. As a final note, let me say that if you compile the ...

| | Stevan Pasero Ballets Opera & Masterworks CD (1999) (Import)
Don't Go Away music CDs
$13.99 From Sugo Music president and uber-producer Stevan Pasero, Ballets Opera & Masterworks covers a number of classic pieces transcribed for the classical guitar by Pasero. While he takes some liberties with key changes here and there, the music is all performed beautifully. The selection of pieces appears to be driven more by basic layman popularity than adaptability to the guitar (e.g. Beethoven's "5th," which comes out rather weak), but he makes the most of the ones that can be adapted more readily, taking on an air of Andrés Segovia (though staying away from Segovia's beloved Bach). On the whole, it's a very nice album. For classical guitar, the standard is generally Segovia, and perhaps John Williams, but Pasero can keep up with the greats. If not for the full time, at least for stretches of glory. ~ Adam Greenberg
Ballets, Operas & Masterworks is a compilation of Stevan Pasero's symphonic transcriptions for guitar that gained critical acclaim worldwide and helped launch his impressive career as one of the most dynamic classical-crossover musicians of our time. This CD features some of the most enduring compositions of all time such as Carmen, Bolero, Canon in D Major, and Symphony No.5 (Beethoven). If you like classical guitar performed by one of the most gifted musicians of our time, this is the CD you may want to own. This collection of transcriptions and ...
