Calling Card album for sale Product Description
Calling Card album for sale by Rory Gallagher was released Dec 28, 1999 on the BMG International label. Gallagher's second album for Chrysalis -- and last with his longstanding trio of Lou Martin (keyboards), Rod De'Ath (drums) and Gerry McAvoy (bass) -- was a milestone in his career. Although Calling Card was produced by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover and not surprisingly contained some of his most powerfully driving rockers, tracks like the acoustic "Barley & Grape Rag" and the jazzy, soulful, finger snapping title cut -- a perennial concert favorite -- found the Irish rocker not only exploring other musical paths, but also caught him on one of his most consistent songwriting streaks ever. Calling Card CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs. ...See Full Description

One of RORY's best Rory blended blues, rock and acoustic tracks very well into this. It's a shame we don't have him still making music today. I recommend this as a must-have to any RORY fan. By scottkreiger (Mechanicsburg, PA, USA) This review is for a different format.
good music good music from the king of blues, i have the record albums and didnot know they were on CD's so when i looked them on cd universe i was surprise. By hramirez805 (Santa Maria, Calif. USA) This review is for a different format.
One Of His Better Studio Albums I don't normally enjoy Gallagher's studio albums, preferring his live recording. I enjoyed this album though. Good sounding tracks and better songs. By kirk.armstrong (Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada) This review is for a different format.
Rory at His Diverse Best! From the opening, "Do You Read Me," Rory shows just why he was one of the greatest blues/rock guitarists! When Rory plays his guitar his very soul comes through his emotional solos. Produced by Deep Purple's Roger Glover, Calling Card shows Rory tackling diverse musical styles from jazz to blues to intimate acoustic songs. The remaster is crystal clear and gives you the sense that Rory is in your living room playing for you. This is an essential album for Rory fans, but also for anyone who loves quality music. By John DeLaurentis (Highland Park, NJ) This review is for a different format.
