Craft album
$12.05 The Expanded Edition of BRIDGE OF SIGHS includes five bonus tracks from a live radio broadcast from the Record Plant, Los Angeles, California in 1974.
The Gold Disc reissue of BRIDGE OF SIGHS includes the single version of "Day Of The Eagle," which did not appear on the original release.
When Robin Trower left Procul Harum in 1971, he opted for a slightly less velvet-draped sound, basing his new songs on bluesy riffs and gritty vocals. This second solo album is arguably his best, and definitely his most popular, going gold and providing charting hits like the intense title ballad and the churning, funky "Too Rolling Stoned." The 2007 reissue contains eight new tracks--classic John Peel live sessions from 1975 that capture Trower's trio at the smoking height.
Out-of-print in the US. Digitally remastered and expanded edition of the British Blues/Psychedelic guitar player's seminal 1974 album featuring five live bonus tracks: 'Lady Love', 'Bridge Of Sighs', 'Too Rolling Stoned', 'Day Of The Eagle' and 'Little Bit Of Sympathy'. Although Trower forged his own style and became an FM radio staple during his heyday in the '70s, his guitar technique was often compared to Jimi Hendrix's unique ...

| | Warhorse Red Sea CD (1972) (Import) United Kingdom
Craft music CDs
$16.19 Warhorse's second album was basically more of the same prog rock-proto metal. Sometimes it sounded a little more mainstream rock, as on "Confident But Wrong" or the cover of the old soul ballad "I (Who Have Nothing)." Ashley Holt was tending to hit more annoying high notes, though; the warbles on "Back in Time," for instance, were unconscious models for the kind of singing so ably parodied by Spinal Tap. The CD reissue on Angel Air has six previously unreleased bonus tracks, including a live version of "Ritual" (a song from the first Warhorse album) and five demos of Nick Simper compositions that do not appear on the two Warhorse LPs. ~ Richie Unterberger
Formed in 1970 around bass player NICK SIMPER (Deep Purple), WARHORSE from the outset looked to become perhaps the most important of the new bands around at the time. During their 4 year career WARHORSE managed to produce two albums both now re released on Angel Air with previously un released bonus tracks. 'Red Sea' is their second album and finds them going deeper into psychedelic hard rock.
Includes liner notes by Philip S. Walker.

$16.99 Like the nine volumes that preceded NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC! 10, the compilation does a top-notch job of presenting an excellent stylistic cross-section of pop superstars. As always, featured collaborations are a main highlight and include those between Ja Rule and Ashanti ("Always On Time"), Jennifer Lopez and Nas (the Track Masters remix of "I'm Gonna Be Alright"), and N Sync and Nelly (a Neptunes remix of "Girlfriend"). Latin pop gets its props via Enrique Iglesias ("Escape"), Marc Anthony (the Ric Wake version of "I've Got You"), Paulina Rubio ("Don't Say Goodbye"), and Shakira ("Underneath Your Clothes").

| | Vanilla Fudge Then And Now CD (2004)
Craft CD music
$13.49 The title of the album is Then and Now, and a sticker on the front of the CD's jewel box proclaims, "The greatest hits! The best collection ever! Includes 3 new songs!" The clear implication to the potential buyer is that this Vanilla Fudge album contains the original 1960s recordings of such hits as "You Keep Me Hangin' On," along with three recently recorded tracks. But that is not the case. Then and Now is an entirely newly recorded album on which the 2004 edition of Vanilla Fudge -- bassist Tim Bogert, guitarist Vince Martell, drummer Carmine Appice, and organist Bill Pascali (replacing original member Mark Stein) -- recreates its versions of songs that appeared on its Atco Records albums and singles of the '60s. (On one track, "Need Love," Martell is replaced by Teddy Rondinelli, as the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra backs the band in a live recording.) The three new songs are the 1979 Rod Stewart hit "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" (which Appice co-wrote with Stewart while working as his drummer) and, oddly, versions of two hits by turn-of-the-21st-century boy bands, *NSYNC's "Tearin' Up My Heart" and the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way." The performances are true to the Vanilla Fudge style, with slowed tempos, quotes from classical and traditional themes, and lengthy improvisation (eight of the 12 tracks run over six minutes), and the album certainly demonstrates that, almost 40 years into their career, the bandmembers retain their rock & roll chops admirably. But this is still an album of re-recordings packaged in such ...
| | John Hoskinson Miscellaneous Heathen CD (2004)
Craft music CDs
$13.89 *** Miscellaneous Heathen named the #1 CD of 2004by The Orange County Register ***John honed his skills in the Orange County bounce-pop trio Ferocious Daisies. After two cds and countless sweaty gigs, it became time to break out and develop his solo material. Playing several years of various solo-acoustic gigs throughout Southern California (as well as stints in Copenhagen and Oslo) led to a deeper understanding of the direction he wanted to take and Miscellaneous Heathen is the end result of that exploration. Most of the CD was recorded by John, all alone in his home studio but he had some help from some very good (and very talented) friends. Eugene Edwards (guitar) and Mike "Soupy" Sessa (drums) of the Eugene Edwards Band appear all over the disc and pop maestro Joe Ongie added his mixing and mastering talents to make a very well-rounded album. - - - - - - - - - - - PRESS QUOTES: - - - - - - - - - - - FOUR STARS!"Gorgeous pop craftsmanship from West Coast upstartFans of densely melodic, melancholy pop will flip for Los Angeleno John Hoskinson's ...
