(5 Customer Reviews)
"Bocanada" was nominated for the 2000 Latin Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song.
Although this album was Gustavo Cerati's second solo effort, it was the first one released after Soda Stereo split. After that, he just worked as a part of electronic bands like Plan V and Ocio. This long-awaited album was his return to pop, and in fact he combined his devotion to electronic music with the pop songs that made him famous. A song like "Río Babel" demonstrates this mix, and also the midtempo cadence that dominates the album. There are some beautiful and outstanding songs, like "Bocanada," "Puente," and "Aquí y Ahora," this last one inspired by the story "El Jardín de los Senderos Que Se Bifurcan" by Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. An orchestra of 48 musicians participates in "Verbo Carne." Along with the songs, there are some instrumental electronic pieces, like "Y Si el Humo Está en Foco" and "Balsa."

Yes No

Bocanada music CDs
$10.15 Axel Krigier (accordion, alto saxophone, percussion); Tweety Gonzales (keyboards, programming).
Recorded live in Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina & the USA in 1996 & 1997.
With this release Soda Stereo reinvented themselves. Lyrically and musically the band acquired an elegant fury never shown before. Although the album supposed a big change to the fan's expectations, it didn't disturb the band's popularity. The songs are among the band's strongest and most popular. Included is the instant hit "Música Ligera," the one chosen by the band to play as their last song in their last show in 1997. "Entre Caníbales" and "Un Millón de Años Luz" reveal almost sexually explicit but delicate lyrics, while the exquisite "Té para Tres" was inspired by Cerati's father's agony. The strong concept and consistency of the album is due in part to Daniel Melero, a former member of Los Encargados. Althought ...

Bocanada album
$8.99 SIEMPRE ES HOY was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album.
Argentinean music legend Gustavo Cerati started his professional career in the 1980s with Soda Stereo, whose innovative music and constant sonic exploration made them superstars in their home and neighboring countries before their breakup at the end of the'90s. SIEMPRE ES HOY, his fifth solo album, proves that his yen for experimentation is undiminished.
Cerati's particular brand of Latin electro-pop is perhaps less avant-garde than the Northern hemisphere equivalent. ...
