Beowulf Movie Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) A must have for Christopher lambert fan's!!! Although the movie has some slow parts.I believe the style, and the role that Christopher lambert had,fit very well, and no it's not highlander, but to me Highlander's not that great. So if you think that nothing beat's highlander than why even rent this.I believe this is Lambert's best film so far... THE BEST CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT FILM SO FAR I like this film better than highlander.I hate it when Lambert play's a wimp through alot of a movie. This movie is the opposite, and it's totally what Christopher lambert is suited for in my mind.My only complaint is that he jump's around to much.He should be like steven seagal with a sword,or Sephiroth on the game Final fantasy 7,and make the bad guy's really look like chump's,but this movie is very close to that.I'm actually very surprised by the luke warm review's it got. This film's is quite awesome, and practically perfect... Not the best, but not bad An all right Lambert film. Not excellent in any way but enjoyable Submitted by styggron (Scotland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
losted and strange This is one of Lambert, Christopher moives he stared in unlike highlander; it a very low key low action pack movie. If you a fan of Christopher Lambert this is not one of his better movies. If you a starter in action-sci-fi you maybe losted. To more advance viewr you think it strange and leave wanting more but over all it's an average move with a good wel basic cast of actors. Mortal Kombat and Higlander is a where you see Lambert in his best. Submitted by mijnorey (East Coast, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
A decent action movie Beowulf is a direct-to-video release that is worth the movie rental. Christopher Lambert does a pretty good job as Beowulf, a warrior sent out to fight the evil Grendal in an outpost set in the future. The acting and the special effects (especially for Grendal) are surprisingly good for a direct-to-video movie. If you are a Christopher Lambert fan, a Highlander fan, or just an action movie junkie, this movie is for you! Submitted by alexandermeller (Dublin, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? $7.95 Opposites attract in the directorial debut of screenwriter Marc Lawrence. Determined activist, lawyer, and idealist Lucy Kelson (Sandra Bullock) has a noble reason for accepting a top position at Wade Realty Corporation. By taking the job, she can save the beloved community center in her Coney Island neighborhood. Along with the job comes the position of personal advisor to her high-maintenance boss, George Wade (Hugh Grant). As the two work together, down-to-earth Lucy becomes utterly indispensable to millionaire playboy George, so much so that he seeks her advice on everything from stationery selection to his divorce settlement to what suit he should wear. When Lucy gives her two weeks notice and realizes that her potential replacement, June Carter (Alicia Witt), has some strong chemistry with George, she has to acknowledge her own romantic feelings for her boss. Likewise, faced with losing the person he relies upon most, George is forced to do some soul searching of his own. Grant is well-cast as freewheeling George, delivering his lines with subtlety and making a potentially irritating character likable and charming. TWO WEEKS NOTICE also stars Dana Ivey and Robert Klein as Lucy's parents.
Opposites don't just attract - they hilariously banter, fuss, feud and collide when SANDRA BULLOCK plays an activist lawyer and ...

Beowulf review
$14.75 Andrzej Wajda's controversial attack on the brutality of the Stalinism that held Poland in its thrall during the 1950s stars Krystyna Janda as Agnieszka, whose final project for film school is a documentary investigation into the fate of 1950s worker-hero Mateusz Birkut (Jerzy Radziwilowicz). Birkut seems to have disappeared without a trace, but Agnieszka, probing the past, discovers the Herculean bricklayer to have been an honest yet painfully naive figure who unblinkingly swallowed Soviet propaganda. Indeed, Agnieszka unearths censored agitprop footage featuring Birkut as a willing promotional tool of party bosses. Interviewing the propagandists, she learns of the actual misery of the bricklayer's life during the period of his fame and of the manner in which his existence was erased from party records once he had the audacity to try to use his renown to greater political effect. As her research brings her increasingly closer to the ugly truths of the Stalinist era, Agnieszka's anxious superior tries to shut down her film, using the excuse that she's gone over budget. The inexorable power of Wajda's indictment of the rigidity of Stalinism--and the vigor of his celebration of naturalness and authenticity--makes this arguably his best film since his classic World War II trilogy (A GENERATION, KANAL, ASHES AND DIAMONDS).
Not only is Andrzej Wajda's award-winning Man of Marble one of the most important films in the history of Polis cinema, it is also one of the most compelling attacks on government corruption ever made. It is a Citizen Kane-styled story where Wajda introduces us to a young woman in Krakow, Agnieszka, who is making her thesis film. She is looking behind the scenes at the life of a 1950s bricklayer, Birkut, who was briefly elevated to the status of a communist hero. She wants to know how his heroism ...
