Dark and driven in tone, Sequencer is a worthy successor to Covenant's debut, Dreams of a Cryotank. With this release, Covenant moved away from the cyberpunk-driven themes of the previous release and took its dark electronic dancefloor melodies to new heights. Tracks such as "Stalker" show that Covenant is capable of beat-driven synth music that retains the gravity of non-dance acts such as Laibach and the energy of the techno influence. Other tracks ("Feedback" and "Tabula Rasa") sport just enough engineered noise creeping in at the edges to provide a new dimension to the sound. The lyrics match the darkness of the sound in tone and content and, with all these elements combined, Sequencer may contain some of the best-realized Covenant material. Also incorporated is the Stalker EP, with the standard two remixes (one of which is the usual "Club Version," playing the part of "Speed" from the debut album) and two additional tracks, all of which prove welcome bonus tracks to complement the main event. ~ Theo Kavadias

Producer, singer, songwriter, rock n'roll guitar player & indie label entrepreneur: Neil Leyton is a mainstay in the Canadian music scene. Originally frontman for Toronto's glam godfathers The Conscience Pilate, in 1998 Leyton embarked on a solo career with the release of the critically acclaimed "Secret Avenue" album. His first single and video, "fires of the heart", aired on MuchMusic that Summer.Live, Leyton's unpredictable, candid appearances range from intimate acoustic soirees to full blown electrified rock n'roll excess - as documented on the live tracks of his "melancholy, understanding" 12-track EP (soon also to be made available via CD baby!). Bed of Stars contains improvisations on flute and keyboard - dreamy, ethereal soundscapes infused with Reiki (healing energy) to soothe the chattering mind. Running at just over an hour, this CD is designed for massage therapists, acupuncturists, yoga instructors, etc. to play during sessions, and is also excellent for meditation and deep relaxation. This CD contains no drums/percussion.The reason for creating this CD was partly personal and partly political. Says Éireen, "When I heard [name of performers rights organization] was going after (i.e., levying huge fines on) massage therapists, demanding that they pay royalties for playing music at work, I set out to record royalty-free music for LMTs."[Track notes:"Bed of Stars" (the title track) is an ode to the intro of the 1976 song "Dreamweaver."
