Camelot Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) Nothing Short of Brilliant This screen adaption of the broadway musical is superb. To imagine Arthur, Guenevere & Lancelot portrayed by anyone other than Richard Harris, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero, would be a sacrilege. The set designs, costumes, and the very pace of the film sweeps you up into it. You fall in love with all three main characters and when the love triangle becomes evident to all, you feel their pain.
The music lifts you up as if you're floating on this journey with them. The photography is stunning beyond words and it's easy to see why a generation refers to the sixties as the age of Camelot.
If you've never seen this film your life has been empty without it. Thank you CD Universe for this unforgettable gem of a movie. Submitted by Johnny D. (Prospect, Ct.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
My kids and grandkids favorite musical My daughter had looked all over for this musical on DVD and could not find it. They have four computers in the house, but with 8 kids and 3 still in diapers, she didn't have a lot of time to surf the net. My wife suggested I looked for it, and I found it in no time at all. We love this musical too. We saw it years ago, live on stage with Richard Hrris, what a thrill. However, our favorite musical is Fiddler on the Roof. $7.05 Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin break out of their traditional screen personas in this offbeat western musical comedy with a memorable Lerner and Loewe score. Pardner (Eastwood) and Ben Rumson (Marvin) are two buddies who share everything, including their wife Elizabeth (Jean Seberg), whom they bought at an auction. Together, between bouts of drinking and gambling, the two men are able to transform such activities as hijacking a stage and kidnapping prostitutes into steps toward transforming their mining camp into a boomtown. Camelot video
$9.69 Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn glow on screen as two people who find long, enduring love with each other despite being married to other people. A fateful meeting at a California inn leads the seemingly mismatched pair into 26-year-long affair in which they meet for only one weekend every year. Altered by the global events of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, skillfully displayed with film stills from the time, and by their personal challenges, the couple grows and changes as the years roll by but never loses the awe that they have found their true soul mates. The dissimilar and quirky characters of the two lovers drive the film, and both Burstyn and Alda soar while retaining the clay feet that make their characters ...

Camelot movie DVD
$7.75 This Hollywood adaptation of the classic Broadway musical sparkles with glamour and reverberates with the energy of good, old-fashioned song and dance. As the film leaps into its first riveting act, Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones), one half of the famous number she performs with her sister, arrives at the night club late, disheveled, and with blood on her hands. Nonetheless, she goes onstage unhindered and wows the crowd with her shimmying rendition of "All That Jazz." Roxie Hart (Renee Zellweger) a young blond who dreams of someday being famous like Velma, watches from the audience with eyes full of envy. Later, as the cops pick up Velma for the murder of her sister, sending her fame to all-time heights as she becomes a tabloid sensation, Roxie also commits a crime of passion--shooting a lover who falsely promised to secure her cabaret debut. The girls wind up together in jail, where Mama Morton (Queen Latifah), a compassionate guard, is their only hope of redemption; and Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) is the lawyer who can get them out. There, through wonderfully familiar songs like "Razzle Dazzle," "Cell-Block Tango," and "Cellophane Man" Roxie and Velma tell their story of competing for bad-girl celebrity.
Director Rob Marshall presents a loveable CHICAGO that shares all the grit and grime of the Bob Fosse Broadway original with phenomenal performances by this ...

So, bringing his girlfriend along, Gen hops aboard and sets out for the far reaches of the galaxy, which apparently contains an endless number of women in very skimpy outfits. | | Urban Feel DVD (2009)
Camelot DVD
$23.35 The debut film from Toronto-born Israeli theater director/writer Jonathan Sagall (who played a supporting role in SCHINDLER'S LIST), URBAN FEEL focuses on a modern couple (played by top Israeli actors Dafna Rechtner and Scharonn Alexander) and their rocky relationship. Robby is an accountant and a hypochondriac, Eva works in a shop specializing in erotic toys for women, and they have an eight-year-old son named Jonah. The routine of daily life is disrupted by the sudden appearance of the "catalyzing stranger," the charming and slightly alcoholic Emanuel (no other that the director Sagall himself), who was Eva's childhood sweetheart and also an old buddy of Robby. Emanuel's influence is felt strongly by all members of the household, including little Jonah, whom he teaches to be tough on the street. But the most drastic change is in Eva, whose sexual feelings are rekindled. After the drunken intrusion of Emanuel into her bed one night, Eva lands in an anonymous sex club. Robby's reaction is to plunge into a crazy affair with a woman named Nelly, who regularly places ads in the lonely hearts columns of newspapers and is somewhat involved with an aging theater director. In the meantime, the audience is supposed to wonder, who is the real father of Jonah--Robby or Emanuel? The film exemplifies global late-1990s zeitgeist, engulfing characters that have stopped caring; one character, Asi, walks through a terrorist bomb attack, but is still ...
