Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re In the 1990s, urban terrorist Simon Phoenix is imprisoned in ice for the protection of society. His arch-nemesis, police officer John Spartan, also suffers the same fate after Phoenix frames him for the deaths of a busload of innocent bystanders.
In 2032, in the renamed city of San Angeles, Phoenix is accidentally freed and begins a new crime spree on a now violence-free populace. Spartan is released to capture the one-man wrecking crew; in the process, he discovers the corruption beneath San Angeles' pristine surface. Through non-stop jokes and action, Spartan shows the docile, futuristic police force that the old ways are sometimes the best ways. San Angeles, a megalopolis stretching from Santa Barbara to San Diego, is the futuristic utopia of the politically correct. Red meat, salt, sugar, smoking and sex have all been outlawed. This spells h-e-l-l for John Spartan, a 20th century cop revived to chase down a 20th century terrorist on the loose in this sterile paradise. Rated BBFC 15 by the British Board of Film Classification.
One anachronism did creep into the screenplay: when Simon Phoenix is considering which convicts to "thaw out," he comes across the frozen body of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who had, however, been murdered in prison after the film was released. $8.55 In Tim Burton's stylish, creepy retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a squeamish, bookish 18th century New York City investigator sent to a small town in lower Westchester county to look into three mysterious decapitations. When the always rational Crane arrives at the little Dutch village, he finds that most of the townsfolk believe the culprit to be the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a monstrous Hessian soldier (Christopher Walken), who seems to be mysteriously tied in to one ...

$6.29 Tango and Cash are two L.A. narcotics cops that go together like caviar and French fries. Dressed in three-piece suits and glasses, Tango (Sylvester Stallone) is the suave policeman; in his nine-dollar shirts and jeans, Cash (Kurt Russell) is Tango's salt-of-the-earth rival on the force. Each has spent his days and nights cracking down on drug dealers, to the fury of crime boss Yves Perret (Jack Palance). When Perret and his gang frame the two cops and have them sent to prison, it turns out that Tango ...

$10.29 A memorable entry in the genre of inspirational pedagogical films, THE CHORUS is an uplifting tale of a masterful teacher who put his heart into his work and changed the lives of his students forever. With a soundtrack of boys' singing, the lovely music of this film is the glue that will stick to viewers long after watching it. Set in 1940s rural France, at a school for poor boys who are delinquent or orphaned, the story feels timeless in the way that it captures a crucial moment in the lives of the boys involved. Ranging from early elementary school level to junior high, the boys struggle for independence and self-expression. They defy authority, especially when it comes from their ...
