Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Behind The Scenes In the AVENGERS feature film, the characters of the cult 1960s television show are back at it again. The suave John Steed (Ralph Fiennes) and the sultry Emma Peel (Uma Thurman) team up to thwart the nefarious plans of Sir August de Wynter (Sean Connery), who is out to control the world's weather. Watch for Patrick Macnee, who played the original Steed in the TV series, as Invisible Jones. Avengers Reviews: "...[A] quirky adaptation....A sly cocktail of offbeat action, stylish leads, and striking visuals..."
-- Glenn Kenny, Premiere "...The rapport between Ralph Fiennes' Steed and Uma Thurman's Peel is agreeably droll and briskly seasoned with double-entendres..."
-- Gene Seymour, Los Angeles Times

Avengers Movie Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) More catsuit, less Steed An okay movie that would have been more watchable if Mrs. Peel had stayed in the snakeskin catsuit for the entire movie. Steed and the "good" Mrs. Peel were equally boring. The "evil" Mrs. Peel stole the movie; the movie should have been all about her, which is how the movie ads were. Avenging the Avengers! This is a horrendously bad remake of a classic TV show. It had none of the charm and wit of the original program, with a miscast Fiennes and Thurman as Steed and Peel. Don't waste your money on this version! Buy the original on DVD through collections listed by the year of the broadcast. Submitted by Bruce (Lawrence, KS, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Avenging Masterpiece! John Steed (Ralph Fiennes) and Emma Peel (Uma Thurman) are two agents out to defeat the madman Sir August De Wyntr (Sean Connery). This is no tea cup drinking party, no sir! The weather is a brutal monstrosity and lightning snaps its wicked tail like a thundering beast. Hath no fury! When armageddon is upon the good people of England and when silly men run around in bear suits, the two agents come out on top and defeat the wretched evil. The pen is mightier than the sword indeed and lightning striking diminished spirits is even more powerful! Submitted by a reviewer (Moreno Valley, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Kylie Minogue Fever CD (2002) (Import) Bonus Tracks; Japan
Avengers video
$39.49 The 2002 enhanced Japan-only version features four additional tracks and two videos. This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Fame can be a fleeting mistress, and nowhere more so than in the land of dance-pop divas. Many are lucky enough to have a hit album, much less two or three. What usually takes a one-hit wonder from the singles charts to career diva lies less in catchy hooks than in a combination of talent and the choice of collaborators. Obviously, the master of this technique is Madonna, whose talent and eye for talent in others has made her not only a worldwide pop sensation, but a worldwide icon. Arguably, running a close second is Kylie Minogue. Starting off as not much more than a female voice for the massively successful Stock, Aitken & Waterman hit factory, she moved on to work with some of the most prominent dance producers of the early '90s, making her one of the most visible pop stars outside of the United States. By 1997, she moved on to working with writers outside the genre. While this may have translated into poor record sales, her motives were in the right place. With 2001's Fever, Minogue combines the disco-diva comeback of the previous year's Light Years with the trend of simple dance rhythms which was prevalent in the teen dance-pop craze of the years surrounding the album's release. While on the surface that might seem like an old dog trying to learn new tricks, Minogue pulls it off with surprising ease. The first single, "Cant Get You Out of My Head," is a sparse, mid-tempo dance number that pulses and grooves like no other she's recorded, and nothing on Light ...
| | Barbra Streisand Duets CD (2002) Remastered
Avengers film
$7.59 DUETS is a compilation of duets and contains a new duet recording with Barry Manilow, "I Won't Be The One Let Go". Personnel includes: Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Barry Gibb, Neil Diamond, Bryan Adams, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Donna Summer, Johnny Mathis, Kris Kristofferson, Kim Carnes, Don Johnson, Vince Gill, Michael Crawford, Judy Garland, Harold Arlen, Josh Groban. Producers include: Walter Afanasieff, Richard Marx, Barry Gibb, Albhy Galuten, David Foster. Recorded between 1966 & 2002. In her lengthy career, Barbra Streisand has never shown much inclination to share the spotlight. In the movies, she must endure a leading man, but in her recordings, she has gone it alone for the most part. In 1978, however, a disc jockey edited together her and Neil Diamond's recordings of "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," and she and Diamond quickly cut a real duet, resulting in a number one hit. Thereafter, she cannily coaxed others into sharing the microphone, resulting in chart singles with Donna Summer, Barry Gibb, Kim Carnes, former boyfriend Don Johnson, Bryan Adams, and Celine Dion, and album tracks with Johnny Mathis, Michael Crawford, and Vince Gill. The material mostly consisted of mediocre adult contemporary ballads that were outshone by the star power of the singers. This album collects all those duets, plus a couple of newly recorded mediocre adult contemporary ballads sung with ...

$10.29 Award-winning actor Ethan Hawke makes his directorial debut with CHELSEA WALLS, an ambitious ensemble film that captures a slice of bohemian life. Inspired by the dozens of brilliant and self-destructive counterculture heroes who have taken refuge at New York's famed Chelsea Hotel--among them Dylan Thomas, Tennessee Williams, and Sid Vicious--the drama interweaves the stories of several fictional tenants. These include Grace (Hawke's ex-wife Uma Thurman), a nervous waitress who is unable to choose the right partner; Bud (Kris Kristofferson), an alcoholic novelist whose inability to love has brought pain to the lives of his two lovers (Tuesday Weld and Natasha Richardson); and Terry (Robert Sean Leonard), a heartfelt musician who has traveled to the Chelsea from the Midwest in the hopes of making it ...
