When William Wyler acquired the script for FRIENDLY PERSUASION by Michael Wilson, he wanted it focused on Jess Birdwell and what he would do, as a Quaker pacifist, if his wife and family were threatened. Friendly Persuasion video Jessamyn West, author of the stories on which Wilson's script was based, was persuaded to rework the script with Wyler's brother, Robert. | A TIMELESS STORY
Although it was filmed in the Fifties, this movie is very relevant for today. The inner turmoil that we all face is brought up in this movie. We all try to live our lives with high moral values. But we all are occasionally tested. This movie shows how one family is tested. They're all very human:not perfect saints. This movie was made long before "Conflict Resolution" and other terms were born. And it is forever timeless.

I first saw this film in the fifties and still have not seen better! It makes you laugh it makes you cry and best of all you can watch it with the whole family.

| Beloved
Beloved describes the feelings I have for this movie. It is corny in places, but it a simple movie that at once makes commentary on slavery and race relations, first love, war, respect for life, respect for religion. Very impressive for a "corny" movie.
