if you are a burt fan you must add to your collection. great characters and acting as well. story line is good and action throughout.

 SHARKY is razor sharp
Burt Reynolds directs an stars as well as sharky looking out for his city which un- to his suprise is controlled by a man whos made his millions in illegal activities sharky conquers the enemy,rescues domino but in the battle for his city loses his machine.from the opening to the ending the action keeps you interested hats off to the late brian keith from the t.v. series family affair his role as poppa is likeable,an sadden to the end.

 Best Burt Reynolds film ever. Period!
The soundtrack is stuffed with Jazz Royalty. (The real kind, not the politically correct kind....) The actors all have great chemistry, the plot actually has meat on it's bones and the set dressing is excellent. It looks like the '80's I remember growing up in. Great Stunt Work and the acting rises to the challenge of the story. Burt should be proud. If they remake it I solemnly beg the Hollywood powers apparently be to not do a "WWW" on it and screw up everything that was so great about the originalthat William Diehl himself couldn't recognize it.

 a very good film...
this is quietly one of the better cop movies made over the past 30 years and say what you want about Burt Reynolds....this film is one his best films period. A little violent....but it ties in with the entire movie and plot. It is ashamed a sequel was not born out of this film as it would have been welcomed. No special effects galore here...just a good story with some great character actors...and, oh yes, Rachel Ward is also quite easy on the eyes in this one as well....
