114 minute holiday classic on DVD. This remake of the popular, heartwarming Christmas classic captures all the joy of the original version.
A little girl, who has been raised not to believe in fantasy, fairy tales, and Santa Claus, meets a department-store Santa who claims he's the real Kris Kringle. Her mother insists that it can't be true--that Kris is only a nice old man who isn't all too sane.
But soon things start happening that may make both of them change their minds... and have faith in magic once again. An updated version of the 1947 classic about a department-store Kris Kringle who brings joy to Christmas, by making Susan, a cynical little girl and her mother believe in Santa Claus. A warm and cozy film with just the right amount of nineties edge. MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET stars Mara Wilson (the unbelievably adorable daughter of MRS. DOUBTFIRE) as Susan. Shot in Dolby Spectral Recording.
Released theatrically in the USA November 18, 1994.
To fully capture the festive atmosphere of Thanksgiving Day in New York, the filmmakers closed down nine blocks of Central Park West for five days in order to stage the Cole's Department Store holiday parade that opens the movie, the largest closure ever of this area of Manhattan for a movie shoot.

Miracle On 34th Street Video Miracle On 34th Street Movie Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) Miracle #2 We bought this 2000 remake of Micacle on 34th Street because we wanted to compare it to the orginal from 1947, (both a great movies) and it was interesting to see how the story line was very much the same, yet details are different to fit into todays' lifestyle. Get them both! Submitted by Ron (Minnesota) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Better than the orginal. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies. It leaves you with that feeling to believe in the higher power & the whole theory to a childs Christmas.
All of the characters were wonderful & Attenborough as Santa was suberb! Wilson played a good role as the "know too much" little girl who knew the truth of Santa because of her mother, Perkins.
There were so many cute features in this movie. It is a good one for the whole family & I found it better than the orginal! Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
opinion I hated this remake of the movie. The original is terrible and this one is worse!!!!!!!!!! buy a chrismas story instead. Submitted by Luis Borges (Wallingford, CT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
May Be Better Than The Original I love the original 1947 version of this film with Edmund, Gwenn. However, the color, the casting, the music, and the photography in this re-make make this arguably as good as, if not better, than the original. Highly recommend! Miracle On 34th Street video
$10.49 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the ...

$5.79 The 1933 film classic KING KONG formed the basis of a 1966 cartoon series that marked the first time Japanese animation was specifically created for American television. Produced by acclaimed animators Arthur Rankin, Jr., and Jules Bass (who pioneered stop-motion puppetry with their 1960s Christmas specials RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN), the cartoon fashioned a kindler, gentler version of the giant ape as he ...
