This 100 minute science fiction/fantasy feature film is a DVD starring George C. Scott, Frank Finlay, and Angela Plea sence. In this atmospheric adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic, "A Christmas Carol," Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas when the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future convince him to reform his miserly ways. Filmed in Shrewsbury, England, this version of Dickens' beloved classic is considered by many to be the best. All the performances are excellent, but George C. Scott makes the often-played Ebenezer Scrooge his very own. Highly recommended. Filmed on location in Shrewsbury, England.

Christmas Carol review
$22.15 Lynne Ramsey's bleak, beautifully photographed debut unflinchingly portrays life in a Glasgow housing project during the 1973 garbageworkers strike as seen through the eyes of 12-year-old James Gillespie (William Eadie, in a soulful debut). As the film opens, James is playing with a friend near a filthy canal behind the projects when his friend tragically falls into the water and drowns. James chooses not to tell anyone that he saw the boy die, knowing that he will be implicated. This secret, along with his increasing lack of communication with his drunken football-loving father, causes James to become increasingly withdrawn, fantasizing about his family moving to a newly constructed apartment complex at the city limits on the edge of a beautiful, golden field of grain. As the garbage piles up and rats take up residency around the complex as if they were new tenants, James finds temporary solace in his friendships with Kenny, ...

| | Black Panthers And The Last Slave Plantation DVD (2008)
Christmas Carol DVD
$13.59 This powerful investigation of political imprisonment gives a new voice to the Angola 3, a trio of Louisiana inmates who represent the only prison chapter of the Black Panther Party. Once inside the walls of the notoriously violent and racist institution, the Angola 3 fought to end the inhumane treatment of prisoners, a stance which landed each of them in one of the longest stints in solitary confinement on record. THE ANGOLA 3: BLACK PANTHERS AND THE LAST SLAVE PLANTATION features interviews with the activists themselves, as well as other political prisoners and revolutionaries.
The Angola 3: Black Panthers and the Last Slave Plantation tells the gripping story of Robert King Wilkerson, Herman Wallace and Albert Woodfox, men who have endured solitary confinement longer then any known living prisoner in the United States. Politicized through contact with the Black Panther Party while inside Louisiana's prisons, they formed one of the only prison Panther chapters in history and worked to organize other prisoners into a movement for the right to live like human beings. This feature length movie explores their extraordinary struggle for justice while incarcerated in Angola, a former ...
