5 stars BEST VERSION EVER!
I purchased the VHS colorized version of the 1947 Miracle on 34th Street several years ago. When I viewed my new DVD version of this movie, I couldn't believe the higher quality of this DVD transfer. The images are crisp and natural looking. For a movie that is about 60 years old you might expect to see scratches and hear poor audio, but this version looks like it was produced yesterday. It's hard to believe that this movie was actually converted from a B&W print. This version also seems to have added scenes from previous editions. For purists, this 2 disc set also includes the original B&W version. This set is Highly Recommended for anyone who loves one of the best Christmas movies ever.

I FIND THAT THIS MOVIE IS ESPECIALLY GOOD IN THE COLORIZED FORMAT WHICH I HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING FOR PURCHASE....I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE COLORIZED VERSIONS OF ALL CHRISTMAS MOVIES..CAUSE WHO WANTS TO SEE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND SANTA'S UNIFORM IN GREY/WHITE/BLACK..FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO PREFER THE ORIGINAL STYLE ..ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS TURN THE COLOR OFF ON YOUR TV SET...THIS OPTION (OF COLOR) IS NOT AFFORDED TO US WHO PREFER COLORIZED FILMS

We bought this 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street because we wanted to compare it to the newer release from a few years ago, (both are excellent) and not only do you get the B & W original but the colorized edition too!

Highlighted by the perennial "Christmas in Dixie," Alabama Christmas is a collection of holiday tunes counting among one of Alabama's strongest records, seasonal or otherwise; although at times the material is overly sappy. There's no mistaking the group's affection for the project, and cuts like "Happy Holidays," "Tennessee Christmas," and "A Candle in the Window" are all fine additions to the contemporary country Yuletide canon. ~ Jason Ankeny Live Recording

The soundtrack to the 2007 holiday release of the same name, THIS CHRISTMAS is also a seasonally appropriate various-artists anthology. Along with a handful of new Christmas recordings (Jordin Sparks's version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and Chris Brown's title track) and Yuletide classics (Aaron Neville's "Please Be Home For Christmas" and TLC's "Sleigh Ride"), THIS CHRISTMAS also features a few non-holiday gems, including Marvin Gaye's early disco classic "Got To Give It Up" and Aretha Franklin's breakthrough hit "I Never Loved A Man."

The story of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's third Christmas CD deals with angels visiting New York City, which gives the rock group with orchestra and chorus a chance to draw upon a wide variety of modern music. The jaunty "Christmas Nights in Blue" sounds like Louis Jordan had some influence and is the coolest moment the orchestra has ever offered, while the driving "Christmas Jam" is Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein" with some sleigh bells. Not that the group was ever "traditional," but the songs here sound less influenced by the old Christmas standards, and they're generally more fun and uplifting. The quiet numbers are delicate and beautiful and there are a number of them in the album's fourth quarter. The problem with the album is it's nearly choked with too much material with a great number of the songs just here to move ahead the story. That's when the album gets too emotive, too forced, and too Electric Light Orchestra without Jeff Lynne. Good new is, whittle out the dreck and you've still have plenty left to enjoy. Even though it won't win them any new fans, The Lost Christmas Eve is rumored to be an "end of the trilogy" album. If so, the trilogy ends with a big, theatrical bang and Trans-Siberian Orchestra fans wouldn't have it any other way. ~ David Jeffries
The great cosmic fable of THE LOST CHRISTMAS EVE posits angels on earth, snow princesses in the galaxies, and Christmas in the hearts of hardened businessmen and New York City street kids. Trans-Siberian Orchestra's prog-rock opera (the third
