Having just released two blockbuster albums in a row (the second of which contained the highest charting single of their career, "Just between You and Me"), April Wine was riding high in the early '80s. So it was quite surprising when their hot streak came to a screeching halt with the release of 1983's terribly humdrum Power Play. If only this mediocrity could have been blamed on a change of musical direction, new personnel, or another mysterious force of nature, but the album simply lacks good songs and perhaps musical mastermind Myles Goodwyn had simply run out of creative steam. Not that the album is a complete wash-out, as the band manages to pull it together on a few mid-paced rockers like "Anything You want, You got It" and "Enough Is Enough." But even these are performed with muted enthusiasm and most fans will want to give this record a miss. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

 If You See Kay...
I always have felt Nature of the Beast was one of the best rock albums of that time period. This one is a great follow up. It has great riffs and If You See Kay still gets me.
If you like April WIne, you will like this one.

Great album re-released
One of my favorite releases from this hard-rocking band. I've owned this album since it first came out on vinyl, and the CD mastering was very well done. However, the track sequence was shuffled around for some reason; it breaks up the rhythm of the original release, which is a relatively minor thing but to me keeps this from being a 5-star review. All in all an excellent disc you need in your collection.

This is a great album by April Wine that I feel was greatly Underrated. It has a good balance. "Anything You Wan't, You Got it" has a great opening riff. "Enough Is Enough"
received some airplay and was somewhat pop, but has a good riff. "Waiting on a Miracle" has some neat guitar work and slide sound.
"Tell Me Why"..nice ballad, great vocals from Myles. You need to listen to this one!
