Possibly the first of the new-styled progressive rock bands, It Bites made an impression with musicians throughout both the prog and metal/hard rock schools of music. This album, their final release, was a collection of both previously released and new material. The disc shows that they truly were one of the first bands to successfully merge progressive rock with a more pop-oriented mode. The Roger Dean cover surely pulled a lot of Yes fans into buying the disc. The music really is sort of a more modern rock take on classic prog bands like Yes and Genesis. The band was composed of Francis Dunnery, Dick Nolan, Bob Dalton, and John Beck. In retrospect, the sound can come off as a bit dated, but there is still plenty here to make the album listenable. The disc probably appeals to musicians more than non-musicians, but is an all-around solid, if not great, listen. ~ Gary Hill

Unavailable in the U.S.! The original 1989 British release of It Bites' third and final studio album finds the band maturing and rocking a little harder than their past efforts. Fronted by singer/guitarist Francis Dunnery, this semi-Progressive outfit were extremely creative in their arrangements, layered backing vocals and unforgettable melodies. This version of the album contains all original material recorded for the album, as opposed to the U.S. version, which dropped half of these tracks to make room for more commercial tracks from their previous albums. Features 'Underneath Your Pillow' and 'Still Too Young To Remember'. Virgin.

Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) 4 stars

3 stars Progressive Metal Excellence
It's a shame that some stupid marketing droid tried to sell "It Bites" as a pop band when they started. This album marks the height (and last album) of their career. They simply never got the recognition they deserved. This is a "must buy" prog rock album.

5 stars Intricate chops great production
Eat Me In St Louis combined the best cuts from the band's previous two European albums with new songs for an American release to coincide with their 1989 tour of the states. It is prog pop at its finest with complex vocal harmonies and excellent musicianship. The recording is superb and should appeal to fans of Genesis and Yes.

It's a mystery why Buddah would released this album and not promote it; they didn't issue but one single from the LP. Seven of the eight songs are Reginald Turner, Victor Drayton, John Bellmon, and Jerry Akines compositions, the talented Philadelphia singers and songwriters who penned "Don't Let the Green Grass Fool You," a hit for Wilson Pickett and the Spinners. They also recorded themselves under various names including the Formations, the Corner Boys, and Frightened Majority. Barbara Mason ...

This is a classic. Halloween has to be right up there in the top 10 or so best hard rock songs of all time. Even over 13 minutes it just keeps rocking and rocking. I never get tired of hearing it. Castle. 2005. The follow-up to what was arguably Helloween's finest album, KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS PART 1, finds the German power-metal pioneers in something of a holding pattern. While PART 2 doesn't match the glory of its predecessor, it still represents Helloween as one of Europe's finest and most influential metal outfits, with songs like "I Want Out" showing off their trademark blend of classic metal structures and thrash metal intensity. The album would be founding member/guitarist Kai Hansen's last with the group, and while Helloween would go on to future success with new line-ups, KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS PART 2 marks the last gasp of their classic line-up.
In the world of heavy metal, 1988 may be best remembered as the year that ...
