HIT PARTY is a long overdue compilation of the finest recordings from the innovative band, Fancy.
Fancy Hit Party is a good collection of Fancy's greatest Eurodance hits, including such '80s favorites as "Chinese Eyes" and "Slice Me Nice." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Modern Talking Alone CD (1999) (Import) Germany; Argentina
Fancy Hit Party album
$11.79 German electronic pop duo Modern Talking released their eighth album, ALONE, in 1999, including the single "You Are Not Alone" and "Sexy, Sexy Lover."
Modern Talking is one of the better-known outfits in European techno-pop, and on Alone the group delivers another batch of technologically advanced ditties. Utilizing all the elements of techno music, Modern Talking comes off as an ABBA-esque group of sugary sweet songwriters who make ...

| | O'Jays Collector's Item CD (1977)
Fancy Hit Party music CDs
$6.79 Collectors' Items is an O'Jays compilation with a narrow range (basically 1972-76), a contradictory title, and odd sequencing, but a parade of huge hits that make up for any of its other faults. Using two LPs (or one CD, in its digital incarnation) to collect songs from only six albums, the set has plenty of room to anthologize all of the smooth Philly soul trio's biggest singles from the early- to mid-'70s: "Love Train," "Back Stabbers," "I Love Music," "Give the People What They Want," "Livin' for the Weekend." Even though all of the songs that had to be here are here, a few bizarre choices make this less than the definitive compilation of their time: why take "Sunshine" from 1972's Back Stabbers, but not the far superior "Time to Get Down" or "992 Arguments" (or both)? Why use "Darlin' Darlin' Baby (Sweet Tender Love)" from 1976's Message in Our Music, but not the gorgeous title track? ...
| | Ringo Starr Ringo's Rotogravure CD (1976)
Fancy Hit Party songs
$10.39 For his Atlantic Records debut, Ringo tried to duplicate the critical and commercial success of RINGO and GOODNIGHT VIENNA by drawing on the talents of many of the same guest musicians who were featured on those albums. There are many highlights, including "Cookin' (In The Kitchen of Love)," an upbeat John Lennon song that features a playful Lennon on piano and backing vocals and "I'll Still Love You," a dark, haunting pop song that was written by George Harrison. Other celebrity guests who drop in to help their old pal Ringo include Paul McCartney, who wrote and performed on the ballad "Pure Gold" and Eric Clapton, who wrote and played on the breezy pop rocker "This Be Called A Song." Lesser known tracks like the thumping, laid-back rocker "Dose of Rock and Roll" and an energetic version of the sixties R&B hit "Hey Baby" ensure that ROTOGRAVURE is entertaining from start to ...
| | Alan Parsons Turn Of A Friendly Card CD (1980)
Fancy Hit Party album
$6.04 Orchestra of the Munich Chamber Opera Care of Eberhardt Schoener arranged and conducted by Andrew Powell.
With TURN OF A FRIENDLY CARD, Alan Parsons has furthered his bid for mainstream success by combining his lush, synthesized art rock with memorable melodies. In fact, two of the album's songs--the infectious, pulsing "Games People Play" and the dreamily drifting "Time"-- became durable radio singles. Like all of Parsons's efforts, however, this album is far more than just a collection ...

| | New Edition Hits CD (2004) Remastered
Fancy Hit Party music CDs
$11.99 When Geffen released Hits early on in 2004, there were a few New Edition compilations previously available, each one with its own set of problems. Released in 1991, Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 (looks like that second volume will never happen) threw in only 11 cuts; 1998's Lost in Love: The Best of Slow Jams obviously left out the upbeat numbers; 2000's All the Number Ones ignored a number of significant, albeit lower-performing, hits. More importantly, almost all of these sets -- including 1996's New Edition Solo Hits -- featured solo material recorded by various members of the group (along with the occasional Bell Biv DeVoe hit). With all of that considered, you'd be led to ...
