Peggy Lee returned to Capital records in 1957, the year "THE MAN I LOVE" was recorded. She had been singing for Decca and doing radio work in the years prior, her voice all the while finding an increasingly unique and mature expression.

She approaches new heights of perfection on masterfully wrought renditions of "Then I'll Be Tired of You" and "My Heart Stood Still." The second album skips ahead a couple years to find Miss Lee continuing her innovations. A perfectionist, she uses what she's got to sweep all contenders from her path. Her skills at revealing the meaning in a song shine forth in exemplary masterpieces such as "Say It Isn't So," where she plumbs the depths of feeling to come up with a new look at an old standard.

Digitally remastered edition of 2LP's on a single CD of two truly classic albums from one of the greatest female vocalists of all time. Miss Lee made more than 700 recordings and more than 60 albums. Her own favorite album, 'The Man I Love,' was recorded in 1957 with arrangements by Nelson Riddle and an orchestra conducted by Frank Sinatra . 'If You Go' includes laid back themes with stunnning arrangements from Quincy Jones.
