| | Marillion Kayleigh CD Marillion Discography of CDs
(5 Customer Reviews)
Inexplicably named after Marillion's Number Two U.K. Chart hit "Kayleigh," this set offers a haphazard track listing (identical to '96's Essential Collection) culled from the neo-prog giants' Fish-fronted period. As such, bona fide hits like the title track, "Lavender" and "Punch & Judy" are combined with less well-known (but usually still top-notch) fare such as "Jigsaw," "Lady Nina," and the monstrously overblown epic "Grendel." ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
Mid-priced 'best of' on Disky spanning the years 1982-1987,their years with Fish. Nine tracks, including 'Kayleigh','He Knows You Know', 'Punch & Judy', 'Lavendar' and 'TorchSong'. My Name I am 13 years old and my name is Kayleigh. My parents named me after this song and I think it is a beautiful thing to be named after. It is my favorite song. Even after 13 years my father still has Marillion's album. Every once in a while I'll get it out to listen. What a beautiful song. Submitted by a reviewer (Georgia, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Kayleigh album
$17.79 MAKING CONTACT/MISDEMEANOUR was originally released as two seperate LPs in 1983 and 1985.
This two-disc set includes 1983's Making Contact and 1985's Misdemeanor in one package. Neither title strayed too much from the proven UFO formula, incorporating both chunky hard rock and keyboard-driven ballads, even though the songwriting was fairly average when compared to past UFO albums. These releases also continued their dubious competition with Scorpions as the source for the world's worst album covers. Despite that, Making Contact is competent, with the underrated Paul Chapman adding guitar textures to pretty predictable stuff. By the time Misdemeanor was released, the band was completely overhauled, with only Phil Mogg remaining as the lone member from UFO's original lineup. However, the replacements weren't inspiring, evoking the look and sound of bad hair metal instead of the credible street rock image the band had specialized in up until that time. Nonetheless, these albums were the group's last releases with any merit until the classic lineup reformed in 1995 for Walk on Water. The best songs from both these albums can be found on The Best of the Rest, making this set pretty redundant for all but fanatics. ~ Brian Downing
2 albums on a single CD from the German band that persevered on through to the end of the century and just beyond. These two albums came after spontaneous combustions ...
| | Scorpions Animal Magnetism CD (1980)
Kayleigh CD music
$6.49 Although Animal Magnetism contains such classic songs as "The Zoo" and "Make It Real," the album is somewhat disappointing when compared to its predecessor, Lovedrive. The well-written songs on this album end up saving it from total disaster, and it's obvious the band wasn't sure what to exactly put on this record -- many of the songs sound like the work of some other rock group and simply don't blend together as they should. Singer Klaus Meine, known for his excellent vocal performances, sounds bored and just plain overshadowed. Although far from bad, Animal Magnetism isn't a highlight of the Scorpions' career. ~ Barry Weber
Recorded at Dierks Studios, Cologne, Germany and Manta Sound Studios, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

| | Scorpions Blackout CD (1982)
Kayleigh music CDs
$6.49 Blackout was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of pop/rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy heavy metal ("Dynamite," "No One Like You"). Vocalist Klaus Meine had a throat operation prior to the record's release, and surprisingly, his voice sounds more melodic and lively than ever. The rest of the band sounds great as well, and the album is highlighted by the fast-paced performances of guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs. Blackout has arguably been called the Scorpions' best record ever, and that statement is ...
| | Marillion Misplaced Childhood CDs (1985) Bonus CD; Remastered; Special Edition
Kayleigh songs
$14.79 Digitally remastered by Peter Mew (1998, Abbey Road Studios, London, England).
Marillion were at the forefront of the brief progressive rock revival of the 80s, and as such had to endure constant critical carping about their similarities to Genesis. Led at this stage of their career by Fish, they reached a creative and commercial peak with this 1985 release, a concept album based loosely around the ...
| | Marillion B-Sides Themselves CD (1988) England
Kayleigh album
$10.49 This is a B-side collection from the progressive rock outfit Marillion. "Tux On," "Lady Nina," and the 18-minute epic "Grendel" are among the tracks.
Before the arrival of the deluxe, double-CD reissues that restored Marillion's entire discography to glory in the late '90s, 1988's B-Sides Themselves was the only source for Fish-era fanatics to experience the many rarities of the colorful progressive rockers' career. Sure enough, no time is wasted with subtlety here, as the monumental "Grendel" opens this collection with 18 minutes of over the top pomp and grandeur. Less challenging, but equally entertaining nuggets like "Charting the Single" and "Three Boats Down From the Candy" follow, but the clear highlights are contained in the songs previously heard on the band's live albums; first single "Market Square Heroes" and the exquisite "Cinderella ...
| | Coney Hatch Friction CD (1985) Import
Kayleigh CD music
$10.49 FRICTION, originally issued in 1985, is the third album by Canadian heavy metal act Coney Hatch. This nine track catalogue includes the songs "She Gone," "State Line," and "Wrong Side Of Town."
So what was new in the Coney Hatch camp come album number three, 1985's Friction? Well, except for new drummer Barry Connors (sporting the biggest, most ridiculous mustache ever!), nothing really. Producer Max Norman was back for a second go-round and once again did the best he could with the talent at hand. But, to put it bluntly, Coney Hatch was pretty much a one-trick pony. In fact, the band had not progressed one iota since its debut, and its three albums were so similar as to be completely interchangeable. Taking very few chances (except for the slightly more prevalent use of keyboards -- woo-hoo!), the songs of Friction offer the same disciplined, polished attack the band had become known for, but without ever hinting at the ...

| | Kropotkins 5 Points Crawl CD (2001)
Kayleigh album
$15.75 A stunning follow-up to their self-titled debut, the Kropotkins' Five Points Crawl probes the subconscious of a parallel American landscape littered with truck stops and roadside motels. Their unique sound mixes the instrumentation of an American Revolutionary militia band (fife, field drum, banjo, violin) fused with a punk-inspired and historical sense of the Mississippi Delta blues. An eclectic mix of veteran musicians and accomplished songwriters (Dave Soldier, Charlie Burnham, Dog) create an atmosphere of twang and trash while the extraordinary and subtle Memphis singer Lorette Velvette drawls out surreal and sultry vocals, backed up by the driving rhythmic energy of Moe Tucker and Johnathan ...

$24.95 The Malena production sound comes from the Southpaw Production team of Dan Broad and Chip Wickham. Working out of the infamous Moolah Rouge Studios in Manchester, their production credits include Badly Drawn Boy, Happy Mondays, Doves and I Am Kloot. Both are also experienced session players, having worked with likes of Nightmares on Wax, Aim, Embrace, The Audiowhores, Jimpster and the soundtrack to the Guy Ritchie movie 'Snatch'. Singer/songwriter Susana Montero is most recently known for her work with top UK Latin band RSL (best known for their huge Wesley Music smash), writing and touring with the band for two years. However, she is also one of the UK's top Latin vocalists, with credits that include Tito Puente, Tania Maria, Isaac Delgado, Pichi Valdes (Orchesta Reve), Jesus Alemany (Cubanismo!) and Roberto Pla. An extremely versatile musician, Susana writes in Spanish, English and Portuguese, making her in high demand! The Malena sound has deep latin grooves, firing percussion and rich vocal harmonies. Their first release 'Para Ti' quickly established them as a top Latin act, reaching number 1 in the HMV dance chart. Their music is a hardhitting mix of Latin breaks, deep vocal harmonies, ...
