A wonderful example of the "typical" horror flick from the 70s. An unexpected ending, and a fine performance by Borgnine and a better one by William Shatner!

I remember seeing this at the Carlton Theatre in Brooklyn when I was 8 or 9. This is one cool horror flick. The special effects are antiquated and the lines corny but if seeing William Shatner portray a zombie with no eyes doesn't scare you maybe Enrest Borgnine as Satan (complete with a go-tee and horns) will. Come to think of it Enrest is just plain scary no matter what his character is. And yes John Travolta is in this but I could never spot him. If you pick this, "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things", "Jaws" and "The Other (made in '72)" you have the essential horror flicks of the 70's (I happened to think The Excorcist sucks). Happy viewing. Ujaama!

Great all star cast. Watching it in the widescreen version is awesome. Highly recommended.

GREAT 70'S HORROR....
GREAT PERFORMANCES ALL AROUND IN THIS MOVIE. AWESOME ACTING BY BORGNINE AND SHATNER. CREEPY MOVIE ABOUT SATAN WORSHIP. I FIRST SAW PREVIEWS OF THIS MOVIE ON TV WHEN I WAS AROUND 8 IT REALLY CREEPED ME OUT. FINALLY SAW IT TODAY AFTER PICKING IT UP AT THE FLEA MARKET FOR A DOLLAR. OVER ALL JUST AS GOOD A MOVIE NOW AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BACK IN 74'AND BOY DID IT HAVE A GREAT ENDING. WHO COULD FORGET THAT ENDING? JUST GREAT. WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF THEY MADE REMAKE? NOT REALLY SURE IF IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA THOUGH....THIS ONE IS A CLASSIC AND SO WELL DONE IT STANDS BY ITSELF.CHECK THIS MOVIE OUT IF YOU LOVE HORROR. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
