Soundtrack English; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Behind The Scenes A movie director and his troupe of actor friends vacation on a remote island where they dig up a corpse and jokingly perform a ceremony to resurrect it. It works! Interesting, garishly-colored zombie makeups and an offbeat counter-cultural feel make this an interesting curiosity. GREAT! I remember seeing this as a 9 yr old.
It scared the hell out of me. I was glad it was still daylight when we got out of the movies. I always remembered it but haven't seen it since. I'm sure now it will seem corny but can't wait for my kids to see it as they love scary movies. Submitted by Sonya (Anaheim, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
little known classic Brilliant over the top acting, in particular from alan ormsby who subjects us to a tour de force of acting
range of Oliverian standards. Submitted by paulpowerman (United Kingdom) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Isn't that scary folks? This movie scared me as a kid when they used to show it on Channel 9 in NYC back in the day. Much scarier than the Excorcist. The only movie that can rank with "Children...." is "The Other" made in 1972. You shouldn't expect a crisp print however. This is a low budget film and the picture is what it is no matter what the format. Submitted by a reviewer (Brooklyn, NY, US of A) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
A Must See For Zombie Movie Lovers I think the first time I saw this move was when I was about 9 (35 now). I loved it then and now after all these years, I still love it. Yeah, it's corny and the acting isn't that great, but when the dead rise up, it's pretty cool. I am a Night of the Living Dead fan, and I can say that Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things is just as erie. I watched it with my 9 year old, and we laughed...we cried! Orville gave her the creeps! But we both laughed when Jeffy tinkled in his pants!!! Poor little Anya, (what a nutcase). Submitted by a reviewer (Long Island NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things review
$7.09 Director Stuart Gordon delivers another chilling tale with CASTLE FREAK. A dysfunctional American family learns that they have inherited a 12th-century Italian castle and travels to visit it. As soon as they arrive, strange things start happening--bizarre noises come from deep within the castle, and objects turn up mysterously broken. The family's blind daughter begins telling stories of someone visiting her room at night. When two bodies are found in the dungeon savagely murdered, the family must unlock the castle's evil past in order to save themselves from a similar fate. Dispensing his usual 50/50 mix of horror and comedy, Gordon makes this an out-and-out horror ...
