Recorded at Record Plant Studios, Hollywood, California. NADA ES IGUAL was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance. NADA ES IGUAL contains more of the smooth-as-silk Latin pop that has made Luis Miguel a worldwide star. Miguel, winner of multiple Grammy Awards, is a sensual crooner whose songs combine cool, breezy melodicism with slick, seamless production. On tunes like "Si Te Vas" and "Abrazame," sparkling keyboards and punchy horns provide an elegant backdrop for the singer to work his magic, and work it he does. There is not a single moment on NADA ES IGUAL where Miguel sounds less than 100 percent committed to every word that comes out of his mouth. He invests every song with enough emotion to communicate to any listener, whether they speak Spanish (as Miguel does), English or Martian. Personnel: Kiko Cibrian (guitar, acoustic guitar, synthesizer, programming); Michael Landau (guitar); D. Shumbach (cello); Bill Reikhenbauer (brass); William Ross (Fender Rhodes piano); Cleto, G. Vodky (background vocals). Recording information: Record Plant Studios, Hollywood, CA. Director: Jerry Hey. Unknown Contributor Role: Alejandro Asensi. Arrangers: Kiko Cibrian; Jerry Hey; Walter Afanasieff. Luis Miguel's 1996 album Nada Es Igual was the follow-up to his hugely successful live album El Concierto, and his first pop album since 1993's Aries. The album, albeit a pop album, has a definite jazz feel to it, evident on some of the more upbeat numbers such as "Si Te Vas" and "Todo Por Su Amor," which utilize ample amounts of horns. There are also the requisite ballads, similar in style to the standards that have helped make him a worldwide superstar, such as "Abrazame," "Nada Es Igual," and the lovely "Que Tu Te Vas." Miguel ups the ante on a few numbers, notably the hit "Dame," with its underlying hip-hop rhythms, and "Como Es Posible Que a Mi Lado," which incorporates elements of house music. Also included is the song "Suena" which, when performed under the title "Someday" by the vocal group All-4-One and used as the theme for the Disney film The Hunchback of Notre Dame, became a hit in the U.S. However varied the musical styles, this album is basically middle-of-the-road, romance-themed music, which is what his legions of fans have come to expect. ~ Jose F. Luis Miguel's talent shines through! This is the first Luis Miguel album I bought and was so impressed by his talent, his passion and tenderness that I became an instant fan. Suena is one of the most beautifully done songs in this album. Each song is a gem to treasure. This album is a must for your Latin Pop collection. $13.29 I have lived in the Philadelphia area since 1985. A “career” musician at heart, I work full-time in another industry to support my family. However I continue to pursue that which gives me the greatest joy. I’ve been involved with a variety of solid music projects over the years as a performer and producer; I’ve served as lead vocalist, percussionist & saxophonist for numerous bands and professional groups. I was fortunate to travel Europe with a world champion symphonic & marching band in my high school years, and later blessed to perform with traditional South American and African folklore groups in places like the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, the Franklin Institute, and festivals along the eastern seaboard. In addition to my day gig, I work frequently as a voice-over artist, a professional Disc Jockey for wedding & corporate clients, teach music privately from time to time and jump on any opportunity to perform live.I developed a passion for singing and hand-drumming at a young age and fell in love with harmony and background vocals. Ethnomusicology and music therapy became hobbies. Starting in the mid-80’s I began to be hired as a studio musician for a variety of projects. Extenuating circumstances did not allow me to pursue a career in New York, L.A. or Nashville. Although I sometimes regret that music has been less than a livelihood, I have been richly rewarded with some wonderful experiences and have worked with some remarkably gifted people. After years of doing sessions for others, I decided finally to press my own album. Greg Brady once exclaimed in an episode of the Brady Bunch when he and his brothers were trying to record a hit song, “what’s the use of making a record if no one’s going to buy it?” How many musicians I know that still have boxes of CDs filling space in their basements and garages! But, as with all of us artists, it was a labor of love and self-expression that just had to be completed. “Dance through Life” is mostly a cappella and percussion-tinged works in which I’m singing all parts and playing percussion, indigenous flutes, etc. (I utilized a few other marvelous musicians in places). There is a palette of influences here including 70’s R&B and pop, traditional African and pre-Colombian music, gospel, jazz, rock and folk. I took on several of my favorite songs and added a handful of my own compositions. My goal was to create a well-produced, albeit organic effort, one that would reflect my admiration and respect for many of the world’s varied cultures and music, and my love for God.Many of the “Dance through Life” tracks were born on a borrowed 4-track recorder that I practiced with in my bedroom for nearly two years before I took the project into a professional recording environment. The finished productions range from analog 16 and 24-track, early hard-disc recording to current digital technologies. ...

$11.49 JOHN WESLEY RYLES is a legend in Country Music for his recordings of "Kay", "Reconsider Me" and over 20 singles on the Country Charts from 1968 to 1988. At present, John is recognized in Nashville as the backup vocalist for every major country singer. His return to solo performances are collectors' treasures for country buffs. DANA HUNT may be a legend for what might have been. After writing No. 1 smash hits for George Strait called "Check Yes or No" and "Write This Down", she gave up her singing career with no known recordings. Strait fans, as well as her writing fans, would love to hear her voice. TIM BUPPERT has performed with Trisha Yearwood and can be heard singing in the movie "Finding Nemo". Tim wrote a No. 1 hit for Kevin Sharp called "She's Sure Taking It Well" and a Chart ...
