If the Grateful Dead had come from Kentucky instead of San Francisco, they might have sounded much like these guys. "This song might sound kinda strange, but it's got more soul than Home on the Range," they accurately sing in "Talk About Goose Creek and Other Important Places," an eight-minute psychedelic showstopper complete with Beatles-style tape tricks. This album is a fun listen that can suck even a city slicker into a stoned, good-time, backhills vibe. ~ Mark Allan

| Established 1970 Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Jaw Harp, Jaw Harp, Jaw Harp Well maybe not that much Jaw Harp, but there are two good songs with some good ol' Jaw Harp. I rate this a 5 meaning that if I was stuck with this cd playing on repeat for 12 hours straight, I would'nt go insane. I remember listening to this record of my aunt Ginger's as a 10 year old child in the 80's. It has some weird fading and/or cross fading sounds. I bought the cd recently and I am glad I could still find it. If I were you I'd buy it before it's unique country/bluegrass/rock sound is
completely obsolete. Submitted by ldzppln (Northeast Georgia, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Goose Creek Rocks Great album. Check out Welcome to Goose Creek and Words or Earnest as well. All three are awesom. I was raised listening to Goose Creek because my dad was a huge fan back in the 60's/70's. Now, my 14 year old daughter is listening to it. I was fortunate enough to get to go to a Goose concert in Chattanooga with my dad in the 90's. I hope one day my dad, my daughter, and myself get to attend a concert together as well. Wow..Three generations of Goose Creek fans. Hope Charlie and the boys keep it up. Submitted by Kelley D (Dalton, Ga) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Amazing entertainment I first heard Goose Creek back in the early 70's. They were warm up for Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. We loved them and purchased their cassettes. I recently purchased them in CD's. I have been listening to this album for 30 years or so and never tire of it. Me and my children grew up listening to it. Thanks guys. Established 1970 music CDs
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff ...
| | Poco Running Horse CD (2002)
Established 1970 songs
$11.25 Though its cover art and title allude to Legend (1978), Poco's only real blockbuster album and last of any true merit, Running Horse, reaches back no further than the group's last studio album, 1989's Legacy, a cobbled together reunion album produced in part by Richard Marx. The production on Running ...

$17.49 On their fourth album, Tiles continue to demonstrate that progressive rock doesn't have to mean either goofy pseudo-mysticism or wanky bloviation. That's not to say that these guys are exactly concise -- the album's title track runs over 17 minutes -- but they generally avoid the standard prog rock trap of ...
