Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Second Audio Track; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Dir/Cast Commentary A replusive, decaying figure with razor-sharp appendages (and an even sharper sense of humor!) suddenly appears in the dreams of four Los Angeles teenagers. It is the ghost of Freddy Krueger, a suspected child murderer killed long ago by the neighborhood parents. Now he's able to exact his bloody vengeance by killing the teens off, one by one, as they sleep.
Finally just one girl remains. Desperately, she tries to stay awake by every means possible, but even pills and massive amounts of coffee wear off sometime -- and when they do, she'll have to battle Freddy for her very life.
It's her worst nightmare ... and it's coming true. A hellish, razor-fingered monster enters the dreams of the teenage residents of a bucolic town and systematically slaughters them in their sleep--until one courageous young woman does battle with the predatory fiend. An excellent, surprisingly surrealistic genre entry from the master, Wes Craven. Both Elite Laserdiscs (EE3734 & EE3733) are limited to editions of 5,000 units.
Color by DeLuxe.
Budget estimate $1.8 million.
Released in USA October 31, 1984.
The film's original running time was listed at 150 minutes, it is now listed at 91 minutes.
Feature film debut for actor Johnny Depp.

The movie also led to a television series called "Freddy's Nightmares."
Rated BBFC 18 by the British Board of Film Censors.

what can be said for this 21 year old classic? Let's face it, every person out there that has watched horror movies know who freddy kruger is. He, along with Jason Voorhies, and Michael Meyers have been household boogymen in hollywood for soooo many years. Whether it was 1978 when Michael meyeres first appeared on screen, to 1980 when Jason voorhies appeared, to then the 1984 Freddy Kruger. If you noticed, since then, no horror movie in hollywood has been able to create a new legend killer. Scream has the ghostface costume, but all the killers are different in each movie. The only creature/killer that may be a legend would be the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers. But that's it. Nothing else. I would not know who would be scarier, whether it would be freddy (would hate to dream about him), Jason - will never be alone in the woods again) or Michael (let's face it, I will never step to Haddonfield IL! LOL! This movie will scare the pants out of you. And if you watch them all, you will see how freddy just becomes a household name. Very worthy to check out. This movie launched the career of Robert Englund. Awesome! Submitted by puertoricandj (Buffalo, NY USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Nightmare on Elm Street review
$6.39 The third installment in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. In a medical facility, seven teenagers who have constant nightmares about child murderer Freddy Krueger undergo monitoring for sleep disorders. But nothing that anyone does seems to help them -- until Nancy Thompson, the heroine of the first movie, joins the medical staff. She suggests that they try a new drug, which inhibits dreaming, on the youngsters. The gullible doctor-in-charge opposes this treatment, forcing Nancy to fight both him and a suspicious nurse in order to save the teens. Meanwhile, Freddy gleefully unleashes one horror-filled image after another to traumatize the patients ... till they fear that this is one nightmare they'll never wake up from again.

$6.39 Freddy's back, only this time he's not confined to dreams in this macabre film within a film. Heather Langenkamp, star of the original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, along with other actors and director Craven all appear as themselves. When Heather's husband is mysteriously killed her son begins to have disturbing nightmares, culminating in a bizarre encounter with the fictional boogeyman. As self-referential as Craven's SCREAM movies, but much more serious and creepy. Some scenes shot on location near the aftermath of the 1994 Northridge earthquake.

Nightmare on Elm Street film
$7.05 Definitely not for those who are faint of heart, Renato Polselli's DELIRIUM is a truly shocking piece of 1970s Euro-exploitation cinema. Although the plot makes the film sound like a giallo, DELIRIUM is actually 100 minutes of lunacy that pays lip service to its complex and absurd story. It stars Mickey Hargitay as Dr. Herbert Lyutak, an unhinged sex maniac who brutally abuses his female victims before killing them. Fortunately, his wife is turned on by Lyutak's victims, although her increasingly disturbing visions of medieval torture and lesbian orgies threaten her already tenuous grip on reality. Shocking, darkly comic, and unspeakably sleazy, DELIRIUM is an unforgettable experience. This special Anchor Bay edition of the film contains both the truncated North American version of the film as well as the uncut European version.
Criminal psychologist Dr. Herbert Lyutak (Mickey Hargitay) is a deranged sex maniac who murders young women. His beautiful wife (Rita Calderoni) is tormented by visions of medieval torture and lesbian orgies. But as their madness grows more twisted, they will descend even deeper into a nightmare of dementia, depravity, and most of all, Delerium! Renato Polselli (under the pseudonym Ralph Brown) writes and directs. This DVD includes both the Italian and U.S. versions of the the 1972 film, which each features radically different subplots and endings as well as additional scenes of sleazy sex and extreme violence.
