National Lampoon's slapstick spoof of the "Lethal Weapon" movies. In LOADED WEAPON 1, National Lampoon spoofs box office hits such as SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, BASIC INSTINCT, and, most obviously, the LETHAL WEAPON series. Emilio Estevez and Samuel L. Jackson head up a comic cast that also includes Jon Lovitz, William Shatner, Tim Curry, Denis Leary, and F. Murray Abraham. And watch for the Bruce Willis cameo. Shot in DeLuxe color; prints by Film House.

Happy-go-lucky hairdresser Rick Jarmin (Mel Gibson) did a good turn fifteen years ago when he gave the government a much-needed testimony in a court case that put a dangerous drug dealer behind bars. Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker--of AIRPLANE! and NAKED GUN fame--wrote and directed this genre-hopping slapstick juggernaut which lampoons World War II spy films and Elvis movies, making many other satirical stops along the way. East Germany is planning a cultural festival, and invites rock-and-roll singer Nick Rivers (Val Kilmer) (but only after Leonard Bernstein can't make it). The festival, however is a mere distraction so that the Germans can launch a secret attack on a submarine fleet without being detected. Nick soon finds himself involved with the French resistance, encountering slapstick gags and film parodies every time he turns around.
