Great Movie This is one of the best Nightmare On Elm Street movies made, the only sad thing is that Freddy's Dead. Well accept for the two movies he's in after his death, Wes Craven's New Nightmare & Freddy Vs. Jason. Submitted by a reviewer (Yuba City, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Not Bad Most people feel that this Nightmare is the worst of the series. I disagree. I think this Nightmare is better than Part 2 and 5. Rachael Talalay directed Freddy's Dead and she wanted to create more of a fun piece and give Freddy over the top humour. The death scenes in this film were outrageous and over the top, but they were fun to watch. It also gave us alot of background of Freddy's childhood and his teenage years. It also introduces Freddy's daughter and wife. Alot of people find the acting horrible and the plot confusing and I have to agree with that. Rachael assembled poor actors and needed to re-think what she was trying to create. If you enjoy watching Freddy play nintendo and chop his victims ear off than buy this film. However if you're a bigh fan of the first, you wont really like this one. Submitted by Kelly (Louisville, Kentucy) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I guess you would have to look at it as a silly but fun movi This movie is just absolutely silly. It really is. But it's fun. Robert Englund is always great in his role as freddy. One would put him in the same boat as Neve Campbell. While A nightmare on elm street helped made a name for himself, it also hindered his career since no one wants to see him in anything but freddy kruger related films. The same thing can be said about Neve Cambell as her career has all but fallen flat since Scream 3. Why? Because people see her as the next scream queen and well Neve has been trying to get that image behind her but has not been successful Just look. It has been 5 years since the release of scream 3 and of course she has not made one movie in hollywood that has been a success. The same exact thing can be said about robert englund. He just fell flat after freddy died off for awhile. So who knows what else you'll see. Anyways this movie contains Jonny Depp again, Roseanne, and tom arnold. Why? I don't know but hey, check it out. It's silly, and yet really funny. Not a horror movie to be taken seriously at all, that's for sure. Submitted by puertoricandj (buffalo, ny usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
so-so im sorry, but freddy vs. jason is not at all like freddys dead. i admit, it feels more like a recent movie, but freddy vs. jason is more like a jason film and it is a lot gorier than this movie. the only cool death is with the hearing aid thing. that is hilarious. but besides that and the flashbacks this movie is sorta weak and is kinda confusing Submitted by that guy over there (over where?)
