Closed Captioned; Second Audio Track; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Behind The Scenes Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) and his entire high school class are bound for a trip to Paris, but just before the plane takes off, Alex has a horrifying premonition of the plane exploding. He panics and in the commotion gets thrown off the plane, along with a teacher and several other students, including a jock (Kerr Smith) and a shy girl (Ali Larter). When the plane then explodes as predicted, Alex and the other teens must deal with the guilt of having escaped death while their friends perished. But death is not finished, as first Alex's friend Tod is killed in a bizarre household accident, and then each of the other survivors begins to die, one by one. While a pair of FBI agents suspect Alex of being involved in the deaths, he and the remaining survivors must learn the mysterious secret that surrounds them before death catches up at last. FINAL DESTINATION is a ghoulish supernatural horror film written and directed by two of the writers of THE X-FILES, featuring lots of references to classic horror films of the past and a sinister turn by Tony Todd (CANDYMAN) as an undertaker. When a teenager has a premonition that the plane he's about to board is going to explode, he throws a fit and gets him and his friends kicked off it. Shockingly, the plane crashes. As the group begins to die mysteriously one by one, the remaining survivors must try to figure out what is going on before they join the other victims. James Wong, migrating from the world of television (THE X-FILES, MILLENNIUM), has crafted a surprisingly intelligent, pulse-pounding thriller. The film's ending was rewritten and reshot several months after the rest of the film.
The soundtrack prominently features John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High."
Most of the film's characters have the last names of famous horror directors and stars: Hitchcock, Browning, Chaney, Murnau, and others. Final Destination Reviews: "...Wong has the potential to be a major director....The film has quite a lot going for it..."
-- Kim Newman, Sight and Sound "...Swift and scary....FINAL DESTINATION unfolds on an unusually intelligent and philosophical plane..."-- Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times "...[Featuring] a talented cast..."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "...This one will have you laughing all the way to the end..."

Great script and movie about "Death"... This is really a good suspense/horror movie, nbot like Scream... What would you do in this case? Definitely a must have, but also the 2nd Part! ´cause is just as great or better that the 1st one, and I loved that the situations of both movies match really cool, to make an even better & huge script about "Death". AN INTELLIGENT, INNOVATIVE AND SUSPENSFULL HORROR-THRILLER This is a great movie which focuses on death and the unknown truth of the supernatural. The whole point of this film is to show that none of us can escape death. It is an intelligent flick which shows some really great innovative death scenes. A great addition to the horror/thriller genre. Submitted by Joey 34 (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Final Destination film
$7.95 In FINAL DESTINATION 2, the basic notion of cheating mortality is further refined with an even more gripping plot provided by Eric Bress & J. Mackye Gruber, the duo behind the film BLUNT. Director David R. Ellis revels in film as an entertainment vehicle and the result is a no-holds-barred raucous good time. Ellis' background as a stuntman and stunt coordinator helps him build electric suspense through a chain of seemingly simple actions that in fact loaded and lethal.
In the original, FINAL DESTINATION, a group of students avoided the tragic crash of Flight 180 when Alexander Browning had a premonition. Death, however, didn't like being outwitted, and one by one the survivors died in freak accidents. The sole survivor was Clear Rivers (Ali Larter) who voluntarily checked into a padded room at Stonybrook Institute. FINAL DESTINATION II takes place on Flight 180's one-year anniversary. Kimberly Corman (A.J. Cook) is joyriding with some friends on Route 23 when she "sees" herself, her friends, and other drivers involved in a massive multi-car pileup. The scene is so artfully executed, it physically hurts to watch. She and police officer Thomas Burke (Michael Landes) save a group of people who would have otherwise died in the crash. But, as ever, death approacheth, taking the likes of Evan (David Paetkau), the Trans Am-loving lottery winner who puts up a good fight but is ultimately impaled on a fire escape ladder; and Tim (James Kirk), who almost chokes to death at the dentist and is later flattened by a piece of industrial glass. Clear Rivers busts out of the psych ward to help the remaining survivors pool their efforts and read the signs of impending death before it claims their lives.
A girl has a premonition that saves her and her friends from a freeway pileup, but death still chases them. Stars Ali Larter, A.J. Cook.
