Samson SCHMITT:guitare, composition. Né le 20 septembre 1979, il apprend la guitare avec son père Dorado .Il joue en public pour la première fois vers l’âge de 12 ans au festival international de jazz de Munich (en Allemagne). Ce premier concert réunit des « enfants » comme lui, Timbo Mehrstein au violon, Yano Scordoet Jouani Scordo aux guitares rythmiques. Il est un parfait exemple de cette fameuse transmission familiale chez les manouches : l’héritage culturel laissé par Django. Digne fils de son père Dorado au côté duquel il fit ses premiers pas, son talent lui permet de voler, avec bonheur de ses propres ailes et de s'exprimer dans un jazz plein d’innovation, mais toujours mélancolique et jubilatoire.De 1990 à 1999 il joue avec Dorado SCHMITT Quintet, le groupe KAKIWEISS (guitares rythmiques) et avec Hono et Gino REINHART. En 2000 et 2001 il fait partie des groupes d’ Alexandre CAVALIERE, Tchavolo SCHMITT, Povro SINTO, Angelo DEBARRE (Trio Corse), Jimmy ROSENBERGet enfin son propre groupe Samson SCHMITT Quartet. Parmi les festivals où il s’est produit de 1994 à 2001 citons : le Cinti Jazz Night à Munich (Allemagne), Jazz sur le Feu à St-André les Vergers, Gipsy Swing Festival d’Angers, le Festival Manouche « Appona » de Strasbourg, le festival de l’Espace Georges Pompidou à Vincennes. En 2002, il participe aux XIIèmes Nuits de la Guitare de Patrimonio ou il invite Dominique DI PIAZZA , aisi qu'au festival Sons d’Hiver à Paris où il est invité par son père Dorado et en 2003 sous son propre nom, où il lui rend la politesse.
