'Hindsight' spans the group's formative years, from their start in 1981 to 1987, the year before they would become superstars with their smash hit "Under The Milky Way". 'Hindsight', never released in the U.S., used to be extremely hard to find on disc & very expensive if you were lucky enough to do so (about $50 retail in 1988). At this low price, you'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper & better overview of one of the '80s absolute finest modern rock groups.
This two-disc collection is a perfect introduction to the Church for new fans, given all the many singles collected from Of Skins and Heart up through Heyday, along with an album cut or two. As an overview of the band's evolution from catchy postpunk pop to its own thrilling musical recipe, along with some amusing liner notes from Kilbey song per song, it's a definite winner. But hardcore fans will want this collection as well for an even stronger reason ...
