Nokturnel Mix Sessions CD music
$11.49 In pre-release interviews, Royce da 5'9" laid out a perfect description of his style: a Detroit kid brought up on Nas whose head was sent spinning once Eminem came around. Three years in the making--twelve months in prison for a DUI being part of the problem--STREET HOP often has a solid foundation that's absolutely classic in feel but also features those quirky, sick-o rhymes that are distinctly post-Shady. "I mix a between Chris Brown and Chris Jericho/Where's your daughter?" is an unsettling bit from the freaky track "Street Hop 2010" which goes on to reference Marlon Brando's Apache friend picking up his Oscar right before rattling ...
| | Cardigans First Band On The Moon CD (1996)
Nokturnel Mix Sessions music CDs
$13.85 Sweden's Cardigans are steeped in a tradition of lush European pop that loosely stretches from the Beatles, through Abba, to Stereolab. But while FIRST BAND ON THE MOON, the quintet's second American album, hints at these touchstones and others like them, the muscular guitars that emanate from behind the Cardigans' expansive arrangements easily distinguish them from their forebears. Great pop hooks are, after all, a dime-a-dozen in Sweden; but pop power-chords are another matter.
This is where ...
| | Depeche Mode Songs Of Faith And Devotion CD (1993)
Nokturnel Mix Sessions songs
$6.09 SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION - LIVE features songs from the studio version in the same sequence.
Recorded live in Copenhagen, Denmark; Milan, Italy; Lievin, France; New Orleans, Louisiana.
SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION finds the band reinventing itself somewhat via lyirics that largely abandon the bleakness of the band's previous forays in favor of cautious optimism and spiritual questions.
Depeche Mode's tenth album, SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION, finds the band reinventing itself somewhat. Not that it'd been exactly treading water, but its last several albums had explored and refined ...

| | Al Cohn We Three: Tenor Sax Legends CD (1995)
Nokturnel Mix Sessions songs
$10.19 This compilation combines portions of studio dates led by three different saxophonists: Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, and Dexter Gordon. Cohn is heard from a 1956 session originally made for Dawn, joined by the always in-demand New York rhythm section of Hank Jones, Milt Hinton, and Osie Johnson. As always, Cohn is in top form, especially on the mellow ballad "We Three." Trombonist Frank Rehak is added for the up-tempo cooker "Idaho," "Be Loose," and "Good Old Blues." Sims is only heard on one track, leading a quintet through a warm treatment of "Ill Wind." The addition of the three Dexter Gordon tracks seems like a misfit, as they come from part of a date, taped in 1977, that had previously appeared in full on releases by Who's Who in Jazz and Glad Hamp. There's nothing wrong with Gordon's playing, but the far brighter sound and slightly overbearing conga of Candido on "Lullaby of Birdland" and "Seven Come Eleven" (though the latter piece features Gordon on soprano sax) keeps this session from meshing very well with the 1956 Dawn sessions that make up the rest of the CD. Gordon's supporting cast includes ...
| | Johnnie Mustang Nothing Tasteful CD (2007)
Nokturnel Mix Sessions album
$14.79 I was stunned my the success of Nothing Tasteful. I thought I'd put together a pretty good album considering it only took five days to record. My favorite song during the recording session was Caffeine Overdrive. Real nice driving, rocking beat, screaming guitar, everything I'm known for. Of course that one has received very little attention so far. My first positive feedback came on New Artists Radio. I punched in my name in a search engine and found out I'd made the NAR Top 40 chart. I was throughly stunned to find out the song that hit was Layinonthefloor. It is a quirky little blues number that really debated putting on the CD. In fact about a month after I cut the CD I wished I hadn't chosen it. About a month after that I found out it was at #33 after being #37 the week before. I followed it up the chart from #29 to #21 then #17 and then in the top ten and then the top five and finally it peaked at #2. There was like a thousand songs on NAR and mine was voted number 2!!! I was bummed when it didn't make it to number one but I guess I'll ...
