 A Good Intro to a Great Band
Whether you're a long-time fan or new to Steely Dan, this DVD is a great addition to any collection.
For people new to the group, the DVD provides a decent sampling of the band's catalog to that point. Veteran fans should enjoy seeing some classic songs up close.
Which brings me to the production values.
For the most part, the HandyCam shots are non-nausea inducing. The over-all visuals can be a bit dark at times. Still, it's pleasant to watch.
A nice surprise is the interviews with Walter Becker and Donald Fagen talking to a variety of band members. It's a nice insight into their personalities. As is the band talking about Walter and Donald.
However, there are quite a few interviews with fans waiting to get into the show. It's not horrible to listen to these people, but at the same time, they don't really enhance any impressions of the band. Keep your finger on the FF button when you see them come up.

The band was tight, I always love their music, style, lyrics, something I should work on in my projects and that is play bass and guitar.
Donald, always astounds me, the man is gifted, and certainly underrated. I suggest you pay attention to pianist Ted Baker, solos from Jon Herington and Cornelius and Chris Potter on horns.
