Timecop Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Nicely done It's one of his better movies, with a very good story and lots of action. Though I'm not a big fan of Van Damme,I liked the movie alot. Submitted by a51hawks (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Mia Sara"s boobs. When I saw this movie as a kid I only saw it to see Mia Sara nude and granted everyone is so sick and tired of "time travel", but if you can watch this movie and not take it seriously you are going to really enjoy it Submitted by gvt19 (Rockland,NY USA) Was This Review Helpful? Van Damme's Best...no Question! I have this on videotape,it is one of the few Martial Arts/Sci-Fi flicks with heart that works! It would have been 5 stars but it's a Van Damme movie!! Submitted by Mad Max (Tulsa,OK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A long-overdue restoration of a time-travel classic. I first watched Timecop in 1995, and was completely amazed at the cutting-edge special effects that still rivals sci-fi action movies even today. Unfortunately, Universal never released the movie in widescreen format on DVD or VHS. Until now I've been watching the movie on Laserdisc.
With the advent of HD DVD, Universal has released essentially a completely remastered and enhanced version of one of the best sci-fi action movies from the early 90s, in the crystal-clarity of HD DVD.
NOTE: My copy was HD DVD only, not the combo format pictured (two versions?)
Picture quality is light years ahead of my VHS, and easily double the clarity of my Laserdisc.
A highly recommended addition to your HD library, and buy it here, because it's unavailable at regular stores! Submitted by Invincible_Irvine (Mission Viejo, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.

$24.49 Nick Knight is a man with a past, and it happens to span the centuries. Having become a vampire during the 13th Century, he was responsible for countless human deaths before deciding, in modern-day Toronto, to give up his undead inclinations and pursue redemption and, ultimately, mortality. His guilt leads him to become a homicide investigator, fighting the most brutal criminals of the urban underbelly. However, his own demons might prove an even more dire nemesis, as well as Lucien LaCroix, the vampire who initiated him centuries ago, who is determined that Nick remain a vampire. Nick is aided in his quest for justice by his partner, Donald Schanke, who knows nothing of his true identity, as well as crack forensics specialist Dr. Natalie Lambert, and the beautiful vampire Janette, whose loyalty to Knight remains intact despite her involvement in the vampire community. In this season, Nick falls for an author whose understanding of the vampire underworld astounds him in "Stranger Than Fiction;" Nick is brainwashed by the Luminology cult in "Faithful Followers;" Schanke becomes star-struck while ...

$29.09 Japanese director Takashi Shimizu (JU-ON) presents another slice of atmospheric J-horror with his gory frightfest MAREBITO. In an inspired bit of casting, real-life director Shinya Tsukamoto (TETSUO: THE IRON MAN) stars as Masuoka, a filmmaker obsessed with capturing the essence of fear via his ever-present digital-video camera. When Masuoka accidentally films a grisly suicide in the Tokyo subway, he begins to explore the system's subterranean depths and finds a ghostly pale, mute girl (Tomomi Miyashita) chained naked to a rock. Bringing her back to his apartment, Masuoka soon learns that his new companion drinks only blood, which he compliantly feeds her--in increasingly disturbing ways. Shot on a tight schedule over an eight-day break between JU-ON and its American remake, THE GRUDGE, MAREBITO makes effective use of its claustrophobic, underworld locales and grainy, hand-held cinematography for a ghoulishly queasy and self-reflexive treatise on the nexus between art and reality, and media and violence.
A freelance cameraman name Masuoka (Shinya Tsukamoto) becomes obsessed with "fear" after he catches a suicide on camera. As he watched the suicide over and over again, he can't help but desire to experience the feelings the man who dies was feeling. After multiple viewing, he notices something- the man who killed himself is looking at something, he is scared shitless. Masuoko decides to investigate the subway in Toyko where the incident took place and see if he can find what this man saw. As he searches the subway he uncovers the truth about an urban legend and finds what could be one of the many "gateways to hell." As he explores this new terrain he comes across a girl chained ...
