Street Fighter Reviews: "...STREET FIGHTER has great in-built playability, and the cast and film-makers play it for all its worth, keeping the tone right on the cusp between straight-faced shoot-'em-up and self-parodying kitsch..."

Street Fighter Movie Review Average Rating: (2.7 out of 5 stars) Raul Julia, truly one of the best... The movie is fairly short, and there is some over exaggeration in the film, but it was Raul Julia's very last performance. With an excellent cast featuring:Raul Julia (Gen. M. Bison), Jean Claude Van Dam (Col. William F. Guile), Ming Na Wen (Chun-Li), Wes Studi (Saggot), Miguel Nunez (Bison worker), and a good soundtrack that features audio from rap artist Ice Cube and the Westside Connection. It is overall, a great movie, and no one could play a better Gen. M. Bison then Raul Julia. I highly recommend if you are an action movie fan. not for the street fighter fan this movie completely missed the point of what street fighter is all about. the characters were all poorly represented in a visualization aspect (Sagat shorter than everyone else in the film???? when he is over 7ft. tall in the game and animated movie); (Ken with shorter hair than ryu???); (guile has an austrian accent???), as well as correspondence to their roles in the video games (dhalsim was a scientist????); (blanka's real name is not charlie or guile's friend for that matter. his real name is jimmy); (balrog on the good side?? when he is clearly one of bison's henchmen in the game and animated movie?????). IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!! None of it. and to top it all off, very dated special effects (don't believe me? compare them to those in terminator 2: judgement day which is 3 years older) and a stale sense of humor. please dont disappoint yourself. buy Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie instead. it will make a world of difference to your movie collection. | | Mind Of Mannie Fresh CD (2004)
Street Fighter DVD
$12.65 On THE MIND OF MANNIE FRESH, Fresh avails himself admirably as a rapper, layering sweet and often provocative rhymes over a variety of backing tracks of his own conception. On the breakbeat-boasting and Whodini-esque "Nothing Compares to Love" and the Al B. Sure!-interpolating "How We Ride," Fresh reminds the listener he was around in the early days of hip-hop, conjuring up the feel of times past. Mostly, however, Fresh's eyes are squarely focused on the future, with cutting-edge beats, particularly on "Chubby Boy" and the pulsating opening single, "Real Big."
Familiar to most of the rap world as half of Big Tymers, Mannie Fresh was active in hip-hop for years before dropping his solo debut, THE MIND OF MANNIE FRESH, in 2004. While Fresh didn't shy away from the mic as a member of the aforementioned Southern duo, his role was primarily as a DJ and an expert beat creator (a prolific one, at that--he's the driving force behind almost the entire Cash Money catalogue). While fellow Big Tymer (and Cash Money founder) Bryan "Baby" Williams enlisted a number of major artists for his first record (as Baby AKA the #1 Stunna), Mannie Fresh boldly lets his voice stand on its own, with David Banner being the only high-profile guest star here.
Personnel: Mannie Fresh (rap vocals, various instruments); David Banner (rap vocals, various instruments); Lil' Mo, Tateeze, Birdman , Reel , Six Shot, Charlie ...
| | Alien vs. Predator DVD (2004) Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled; DTS Sound
Street Fighter movie DVD
$9.69 When audiences caught a glimpse of an alien skull mounted in the trophy cabinet of a Predator in the 1990 film PREDATOR 2, it seemed a franchise was about to be born. Sure enough, comic book artists immediately seized on the possibilities suggested by the brief scene, and a number of skirmishes between the deadly foes were played out on the printed page. Fans have had to endure a lengthy wait for a cinematic match-up, but writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson (EVENT HORIZON) has finally delivered the blood-splattered goods in ALIEN VS. PREDATOR. Set in the near future, a team of archaeologists lead by Charles Wiedland (Lance Henriksen, returning for more ALIEN action after appearances in the second and third films) ventures towards an inexplicable "hot zone" detected in Antarctica. Joined by Alexa Woods (Sanaa Lathan) and the requisite amount of human fodder for the otherworldly creatures to feast on, Wiedland and his cohorts discover a sizeable underground pyramid. Chaos ensues as they awake the Queen alien from her blissful slumber, causing face-hugging and chest-bursting scenes aplenty. But the ailing crew has a further quandary to grapple with in the shape of some fearsome Predators, who are using the aliens as bait for their offspring to brawl with in an ancient initiation ritual. With the human team trapped in the labyrinth-like pyramid, the battle evolves into a nail-biting three-way tussle between the archaeologists and their extraterrestrial adversaries. Fans of both the ALIEN and PREDATOR movies should find much to satiate their appetites here, and with an ending suggesting further hostilities between the pernicious coupling, this one looks set to run and run.

| | Kinky Boots DVD (2006)
Street Fighter DVD
$11.79 Following in the tradition of such charming British fare as THE FULL MONTY, WAKING NED DEVINE, and CALENDAR GIRLS, Julian Jarrold's very funny KINKY BOOTS tells the story of a small-town shoe factory fighting for its life. Inspired by a true story, KINKY BOOTS is set in Northamptonshire, England, where Harold Price (Robert Pugh)--just as his father and grandfather did--runs Price & Sons, a which makes traditional men's shoes. Although the proud Harold tries to interest his son in the family business, Charlie (Joel Edgerton) has decided to move to the big city, London, with his fiancée, Nicola (Jemima Rooper), to get as far away from shoemaking as he can. But his father dies of a sudden heart attack, forcing Charlie to at least temporarily take over the shop. Faced with mounting debts, he starts laying off the longtime staff until he meets Lola (Chiwetel Ojiofor), a hulking black drag queen with a major footwear issue. Along with Joel's just-canned employee Lauren (Sarah-Jane Potts), the trio comes up with a radical idea--making strong, sexy boots specifically for transvestites, with outlandish designs, bold colors, and unusual materials that would probably have the previous generations of Prices rolling in their graves. When Lola comes to Northamptonshire to help out, KINKY BOOTS becomes a fish-out-of-water tale as the straitlaced workers have to come to grips with some of their own issues. Both Edgerton and Potts are endearing in their roles, with good support from Nick Frost and Kellie Bright, but KINKY BOOTS belongs to Ojiofor (AMISTAD, DIRTY PRETTY THINGS, INSIDE MAN), who is simply fabulous as Lola, strutting his stuff both in the factory and in a London club where he performs such songs as "Whatever Lola Wants" and "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'."
This film starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joel Edgerton, and Sarah-Jane Potts, was inspired by a true story. Extras include deleted scenes with optional commentary by director Julian Jarrold, featurettes, ...
