Through the help of a friend, he gets a position leading a ROTC outfit at a prep school, but his young recruits are thoroughly unprepared for his gruff and acerbic rigidity. The major has a change of heart -- and loosens up considerably -- when he meets a winsome and intelligent doctor who provides just the romantic touch he needs. Wayans plays a near-maniacal Army Major assigned to whip a detail of dysfunctional children into shape to win a war games competition, making for some hilarious moments of truly inspired lunacy. Remake of the 1955 movie THE PRIVATE WAR OF MAJOR BENSON starring Charlton Heston. Shot in DeLuxe color.

This movie is the best movie ever. SO SO funny i remember watching it as a kid and it is still as funny. I recommend this for kids ages 8-14. This movie would be a good way to cheer a kid up if they were bummed.

when i first saw major payne 8 years ago it was hilarious and its still as funny now. brilliant film in all. money well spent. cheers!!!!

I can remember when I was younger that I used to watch this movie everyday. My parents hide the tape when I was 10. I am 18 and I just recently found the tape, and Im watching it everyday now.

Months later Dr. Crowe encounters Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, withdrawn young boy who bears a striking similarity to his earlier patient. Dr. Crowe is compelled to help Cole, not only for the boy's sake, but for his own redemption. As Dr. Crowe struggles to determine what torments Cole, he must also come to terms with his increasingly distant relationship to his wife (Olivia Williams). Cora (Madeleine Stowe) and her younger sister, Alice (Jodhi May), both recent arrivals to the colonies, are being escorted to their father, Colonel Munro (Maurice Roeves), by a troop of British soldiers. Along the way they are ambushed by a Huron war party led by Magua (Wes Studi), a sinister warrior with a blood vendetta against Munro.
