A psychiatrist treats the couple's surviving daughter, but he is really interested in unlocking the key to forbidden pleasures. Through the dark art of magic, he rejuvenates the skinless body of the girl's stepmother and begins a fresh descent into hell. Beginning just hours after the original HELLRAISER ended, HELLBOUND finds young Kristy (Laurence) waking up in a mental institution because she insisted on describing her parents murderers as pain-loving demons from hell to the authorities. Unfortunately, she has been placed in the car of Dr. Channard, who has devoted his life to solving the Lament Configuration, the key to the doorway of hell, and now, with Kristy, he believes he has found another key. Resuscitating the skinless corpse of her stepmother, Julia, Dr. Channard succeeds in opening a doorway to hell, one that Julia, Channard, Kristy, and her mute friend Tiffany all travel through.
Based on a story by Clive Barker, HELLBOUND is both a continuation of the original as well as a much different take on its story and universe. Here, the film fashions itself after an ALICE IN WONDERLAND type fairy tale as it focuses on Kristy and Tiffany's adventures in hell as well as on the lives of the Cenobites. Infamously gory, surreal, and often horrifying, HELLBOUND is a satisfying sequel to one of the most original horror films of the 1980s. This sequel was better than the first Hellraiser film. It revealed so much secrets rather than how the first Hellraiser film did. For example it shows how a man became the Lead Cenobite aka Pinhead. Or also how the rest of the cenobites were actually human before.

Get this, its a classic just like Part 1, you will change forever.

hellraiser 2 shines as a sequel. the story behind the box and the demons it brings forth is much more in depth revealing a terrifying film you should not watch alone.the uncut version shows a lot more violence, almost to the point of disgust. Recommended.

Ok, they needed that wizard of Oz to know that George Lucas had a good movie and now they lost their way and no longer know that it also fit a good format. If you know that this movie is brilliant you already know that once you're that smart it's no longer possible to prove that you even have a brain. Also I love the pryamid look to hell's higher than us technology. The series up to three is better than Clive Barker's novels who in there is too much about body idols; yuck. But buying it may make your collection look dumb now because of its poor ratings.

For the most part, that statement is true. However, Hellraiser 2 in some aspects is superior to Clive Barker's original masterpiece. A movie unlike any horror film you may have seen before. Its originality and creativity is only surpassed by its gruesome imagery. NOT for the squeamish, that's for sure. This is my favorite hellraiser film in the series. It is a shame that they did not stop this series after the 3rd Hellraiser. It would have gone down as the greatest horror movie series of all-time. Want to witness one of the most inventive fictional horror movies in cinema history...Watch Hellraiser 2 (The uncut version if you dare!)
